PTO Question

Just a silly question. Does the 224 PTO spin in both forward and reverse directions? I have not noticed and I am getting ready to use my PHD for the first time to dig 120 holes. I am hoping to use the reverse if it gets dogged down in the hole.

Multi-speed, but uni-directional. If it gets stuck in a hole, simply disengage the PTO (if the shear pin hasn't already broken) and use the TPH to lift it out.

One direction and that is DIG. Lower your 3PH SLOWLY so you don't get too much bite. Safety is a real concern. Don't let anyone near the auger when the PTO is engaged. If you ever used a manual pair of hole diggers then you will love this implement. I don't use it often but it is one of my favorites.

I got mine stuck a few times. A handy tool to get it unstuck is a 24" pipe wrench to back it out a quarter turn if it gets wedged under an object. It got stuck a few times on me and using the 3 point hitch only squeezed down the rear tires..Make sure the tractor is shut down when backing out the auger...
