This is probably a dumb question but I haven't had any luck searching on my own. I have an old WoodEze wood processor that is driven by a Prince PTO pump. I really hate wrestling this pump on and off my tractor. I'd like to mount the pump to the processor and drive it with a short PTO driveshaft. Easy enough.... But what I need is a shaft with a female end to connect to my tractor with a male tractor style shaft to go into my pump. Does this exist or will I need to cobble something up?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I tried a couple times and copied the link from Agrisupply.com but when I save the link and post it the link changes to viglink?.
I searched for 1 3/8 -6 spline x 1 3/8 - 6 spline PTO shaft.
Agrisupply has it.

That one worked; thanks! It states max HP as 540/1000 16/25? Is that correct?

the male end should come off the pump . just buy a u joint on one end that fits the shaft and key with the female end on the other to hook to the tractor. You can buy loose parts at tractor supply and just roll pin them or weld you own shaft.

Ok , Nevermind then , Never seen a rotary pump with that design.

It's meant to just go onto the tractor via long hoses but the pump weighs a tone and the hoses are pretty stiff; it's a hassle to wrestle it on and off so I'd like to hard mount the pump to the processor and drive it with a shaft like every other implement I own.

Most PTO pumps are just like that. Designed to hook direct to the tractor.

I have never seen a shaft with male ends. Also never seen a 1-3/8" double male adapter.

So I think you are gonna need to "cobble" something.

Stick something like this 112A226 1 3/8 X 6 X 12 Splined End Shaft in the Pump.

Cut to length, drill a hole, and use a PTO shaft that has 1-3/8 smooth bore (shear bolt style).

Do you have a PTO shaft to shorten?

This is a PTO Adapter, there are a lot of variations.

The best way to search for something like this, is to do an image search.

Here is a tractor end:

Does your tractor have hydrolics? Could you skip the pump and just run hydrolic hose from the tractor to the wood processor?

Just a guess, but I assume he went with a PTO pump to maximize the speed of the processor. The tractors ~12gpm is on the slow side for a processor. I am guessing he is probably running 20-25 GPM with a PTO pump
