I'm glad you got your problem squared away.

As far as the comments...internet forums are always a bit rowdy....one needs a thick skin to enjoy them...so, I suggest you not take any comments personally...just ignore the ones you don't like.
And, don't ever take a forum too seriously!

I like the push button release design a lot better than the ring type. It eliminates the whole push while pulling thing.

So do I...much easier...were they banned by the Safety Nazis?

At least the OP stayed around and admitted what happened. Many figure it out and don't show their red face ever again. This one got well resolved without destruction of the yoke / coupling.

This is how we all learn how to resolve our various problems. I think that the "I Told You So" stuff could be easily replaced by "Glad it Worked Out now, go get some tractor time!" That leaves all smiling.

We all try to help whenever we can but, also many of us have to occasionally step up to the alter of "can't figure this obviously easy problem out". It's much easier to ask for help if you don't have to fear being jumped by one of our "Xperts" because you are not as "wise" as them. Helping each other is one of the most pleasant thing about TBN IMHO. Some of the other crap ....... is just that.

My 2 cents worth.

Thanks all I got it finely Dingeryote convinced me when he said he had several Woods implements in his stable,, It was a pull back,, I was pushing on the plastic ring that hold the return spring..

I did the same thing last time I took my mower off, pushed on that plastic thing instead of the collar. Glad you figured it out.

I have no idea. I always guessed it was whatever the manufacturer chose to supply with a piece of pto equipment. If so, ease of use is probably down their list of priorities.

My ten year old Woods bush hog has the pull back ring. Five year old Wallenstein chipper has the button. Five year old Frontier snowblower has the push forward ring. Come to think of it, I'm lucky to get anything connected.
