I know that this problem has a simple solution.
I need advise on why I have broken two PTO to Deck belts in about 30 minutes. Looks like the belt is rubbing on the bracket that’s directly below the PTO Clutch. The belt is
not twisted when put on. You can (after a few minutes of cutting grass) smell rubber burning, and it doesn’t take long before belt breaks. It’s been carried back too the dealer on two separate occasions.
Was bought new on last of June this year.
Does anyone know of a good Cub Cadet Dealer in Georgia.

I know it's real easy to accidentally set the flat side of belt down in the idlers below the exhaust. It will slide right in that way. I did that once after a deck removal and the belt jumped off after a few seconds. The first time I re-installed the deck, I missed the fact that I didn't even have the belt over one of those lower idlers! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. The belt immediately jambed and put a huge gash in it. Luckilly, I'm still using the factory belt at 32hrs. With proper rouiting, I can't amagine how yours is jumping /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It's a pretty ridgid setup, even with that 90deg bend.

G/luck

I imagine it is a routing problem...but if you can't figure it out bring it over and I will have my guy check it out.
