Rear Finish Mower Pull type

   / Pull type #11
Try your local TSC or similar store. Even if they don't carry it in stock, They should be able to order it in for you. My local TSC does not carry the land plane, leveller, etc. But in the catalog of equip. manufacturers the carry it was listed and were able to put it on order for me. they should be able to order in a pull rotary mower for you. or a finish mower if that is what you need.

Good luck
Tom

Thank you for that. I will call them tomorrow. I have checked them out but only their catalog.

Don't know if I have ever seen a PTO driven pull behind mower, but you can solve the tire interference by using a drawbar to pull from.[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Special-Products-04010100-3-Point-Drawbar/dp/B004RQ1PRK]Amazon.com: Special Speeco Products 04010100 One Piece 3-Point Hitch Cross Drawbar: Automotive[/ame]

Have tried using a pull-behind brush hog run off the PTO and it is a PITA. Turn too sharp and the U joints let you know.

On my tractor the mower is hydraulic and mounted on the front. 96" of pure brilliance. Why not go in a different direction and mount a hydraulic mower upfront?

I'd also be worried about the mower hitting a rear tire when making a turn...that could result in a bad day!
But, there are pull type rotary cutters..and a number of people operate them. Maybe someone will chime in and tell us what prevents PTO damage and the tire interference.

two CV joints ( one at tractor one at tongue pivot) on the MoCo lets you turn sharper than single U-joint. I think single U is about 15 degrees, CV close to 30*

I am not sure the hydraulics on my tractor could handle it.

Another way to avoid tires hitting the mower on turns is a swinging hitch but I don't know if they put them on newer machines.

The big advantage a 3 pt mower has over my riding mower is that it still cuts when I am going backwards. And because it was so low to the ground, I could back it in to any corner or under any tree, without having to worry about it getting hurt. I think that motor sitting right on top of a pull behind would have got in the way.
