Pulling T Post ideas

I've been pulling T posts with a chain on my front loader, and I'm wondering if there's a way to do it that I don't have to get off the tractor for every post?

Something for sale that hangs off of the loader that I can lower to the T post, and then lift it out would be ideal.

If not, I'll keep using the chain, but I'm hoping there's a better way.

Tempting, but more then I want to spend just to be lazy. Odds are good that the temps will be better next week, and it wont be so bad getting on and off of the tractor to take out each post. I'm just hoping that there's something out there that I'm not aware of that's affordable.

Short length of 2 inch or so pipe fastened to one side of the bucket in a vertical position. Square tubing may work, too.

Lower it onto the post, tilt the bucket a bit to jam the post, then lift. Post falls out when free of the ground.

I hear you brother. I am putting off any more outside work until at least Saturday. By Tuesday they're saying highs will only be in the 70s. Going to need a jacket! Haha

The other option is to stand on the ground and use a hand t-post puller. They work pretty well for me. It doesn't take much effort.

Would one one of those sheet metal grabbers maybe work? I’m spoiled, I’ve got four children and just trained the youngest how to strap a T-post and hook it on the FEL correctly

Get a tractor that is easier to get on and off of?

I use the chain method to pull wood posts.

For T-posts, I use a 4N1 bucket, and use the bucket hydraulics to clamp the post. In general, I'm pulling posts out of dried clay and they really aren't thrilled about coming up.

I use my GF as the one that connects the chain to the T post. I stay on the tractor.
I guess you need a GF to help you !

I bought one of these at TSC, $13.99. I wrap a chain around the bucket and leave about 4' of chain between the puller and the bucket. That's enough to get it over the top of the t-post and let it drop down close to the bottom. I still have to get out of the seat but I drag the t-post I just pulled to the next t-post, remove the one I just pulled, throw it in the bucket, and put the puller on the next one. If I can't lift it out of the ground with the FEL, curling the bucket up has worked.

Perhaps she needs a new boyfriend. Teach her to do the tractor work and get your backside out there doing the physical labor. I thought you were from Dixie? Most fellas down here are a wee bit more chivalrous.

It's looking like today is the last day of Summer and we're in for a big down turn in temps, along with some rain. I'm leaning towards welding a short piece of pipe onto the side of the loader, and pulling them out that way. Everything else seems to just complicate it. I've taken out dozens of posts with a chain, so that's not an issue.

If your bucket has enough dump angle(ie the top of the bucket is ahead of the cutting edge), Bolt this thing on a hinge on top of the bucket where you can see it... The real trick is now how to collect the t posts without getting off the tractor!

I could see this as being pretty fast. It would also release automatically when lowered.

I like it, but I'm never going to spend that much money just to be lazy. I'm hoping to be lazy for as little money as possible.

I try to find a helper to at least run the loader control,
I still prefer a couple of chain wrapps around the post and a straight pull up, posts cost to much to mangle and bend.

I also use a hand t-post puller. I can have a bunch of posts pulled by hand by the time I reposition the tractor and there's not as much risk of bending the posts.

Ya, i let my wife operate tractor, i operate chain. We make a good team. I pulled about 100 posts last time re realligned the fence in no time at all. She knows how to align tractor so as not to bend post. Cheaper than an attachment. I only have to buy her dinner.

I make sure my wife is in a good mood and the tractor is running right when I work the chains.

'cause...you know. She knows how-to use the FEL.
