Pump pressure and nozzle type

In order to water some bermuda I'm planting I need to purchase a good water pump to pump water from my pond and then irrigate bermuda fields. I'll be pumping first into a 330 gal. poly container, then out of same container hoping to stay on the roads and perimeter of my fields to water the grass.

I've got my eye on something like this or similar tsc5_5hp

But my challenge is assembling the right hose kit and nozzle to use the pump to spray the water, and spray it far enough while not putting too much back pressure on the pump. Anyone ever try this? Can I get a 30+ foot spray with the right setup?

Unless you have some pretty large sprinkler heads I think the pump you are looking at is too big. I use a little Honda WX10 pump that puts out about 37gal/min to run a sprinkler for my garden, pumping it out of the pond. It's just a regular oscillating sprinkler and I connect it using 3/4" black plastic water line. The pump has the GPM to run a larger sprinkler or multiple sprinklers, but I only need one so I just run the pump at about third to half throttle. If you try to run the pump too fast it is straining and will overheat since it can't push as much water as it is trying to.

I'm sure that with the proper pulsating sprinkler on a stand I could get 30'+ coverage even with my little pump, could probably run two at once even.

Thanks Vericaltrx, I should have been more specific about the nozzle, I meant a single hand held nozzle fitting the end of a hose. It really does seem like that pump is just a bit big.

Considering the size of my poly container, smaller seems better. That and throttle control I should be in good shape.
