I have two commercial shearing pumps that are identical, my question is can I run one pump and pump to the second to run it as a motor. The specs are:
Max rpm 2000 @ 80gpm
Pressure-2000psi
Torque 2560 in/lbs@ 1800rpm@ 2000psi
Power 73hp
Input flow 76 gpm
Please weigh in and tell me if this is possible
What I want to do is build a firewood processor and this would turn a 42-48" circular saw
Thanks
Lea

Unless those pumps have the option for an external case drain they can not be used as motors. If they have an external case drain option their is a possibility that they might work as motors. I suspect these are pressure side loaded pumps so would also suspect the motor would only operate in one direction.

Just an observation, most of the circular saw models I have seen are belt driven directly from the motor. A much more effective use of horsepower.

If you have the power it can certainly be done. It would certainly be easier from a build standpoint.

I have lots of power to run a pump 345cu in international industrial engine so power should not be a problem. It is also set up with a twin disc clutch, but I don't think I really need the clutch
I can run the pump direct off of motor. I have lots of parts that is why I am leaning toward hydraulic saw
