Thin oil is very necessary as the book says. I have a engine heater in a Freeze plug in my 2aa1 Isuzu and usually plug it up for a couple hours before I start it. That does not warm the oil. I start it and drive it -+ 150 ' to level and raise the hood and take the little cap off so I can peep down into the baffle inside the valve cover and idle it for+- 10 minutes. When I see the oil forming on the baffle inside the pipe that holds the sump filter or what ever you would call it that is on the valve cover. When I see the oil get more and more I shut the engine down and the oil for the most part will drain back down into the valve cover and within 1 to 2 minutes I can fire the engine up and by that time the oil is warm and I can run it all day long with no problem. I am thinking that when the oil is thick or cold and mine does it with new 5w40 oil. I get very little blow by but that might be the problem. My tractor was fine the fall before I put it up for winter and in the spring is when it started which leads me to think that Seafoam, if you could get it in on top of the piston might free a sticky ring although my tractor starts and runs good and has great power is likes to spit some oil out if I am not there to stop the engine for a minute or two. I am thinking that the return passage to the sump or oil pan needs to be somewhat larger or have and oil heated dip stick to heat the oil before running. I had 15W40 in my tractor when it started and that is a no no. The Seafoam did help and I think I need to add more and it will get better. Have a B275 International and it has terrible blow by buy no issues and runs good and strong.
I would love to know how the oil gets back to the sump/oil pan. I found a small brake line sized pipe coming out of the head and going down to the bottom of the engine and it was oily on the inside when I took it off and I am wondering if that is not the only return that the engine has for the oil to get back to the sump. My tractor has under 1100 hrs on it, and it happened sitting still. Think maybe it is a stuck ring and Seafoam is great from what I can read for that. Marvel Mystery oil is very good for cleaning and in the fuel helps lube the injector pump from where the Sulphur has been taken out of the Diesel Oil that formally helped lube somewhat parts of the engine. Read that on Tractorbynet I think. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Good luck.
