Back on my Grandparents dairy farm they only used Cow Manure... liquid and solid for the fields...

The tractor had a tank trailer with a s 3-point pump that backed right over the cover and dropped a pickup tube to empty the concrete vault.

To bad the farm is on the other side of the country... and my cousin stopped farming.

"Biosolids/Twenty Mile South Farm

The city of Boise owns a 4000-acre farm on South Cloverdale Road. Known as the "Twenty-Mile South Farm", the farm receives the "biosolids" from the City's two main wastewater treatment plants.

The treated biosolids are one of two end products of wastewater treatment that can be recycled as soil supplements. The other product is water. The water is treated and released into the Boise River.

The biosolids are trucked to the farm four times a day in trailers holding approximately 25 tons per load. The biosolids are applied to the fields for growing crops that are eventually sold to farmers for silage and food for livestock. The crops are primarily alfalfa, corn, and small grains. The farm is managed to comply with state and federal regulations governing the reuse of biosolids."

That said, since he lives in CA I would be pretty quiet about what and when you are spreading the biosolids from the septic tank.... their State regulations for the reuse of biosolids probably consists of 'NO'. ;)

I think he is concerned getting the county involved may lead to a 40k sewer design/install job plus annual servicing contract...

I've been in the plumbing business for 30 + yrs..
Here, I'm not allowed to perform any work on a septic system..
Any work performed on a septic system must be permitted through the county health dept..

^^^ It might be something similar because phone calls to the roto-rooter guys have all been a NO

The independent that has a contract with my brother's company for apartment buildings also said NO and my brother sends a couple of thousand dollars of work his way each month.

He independent also said it is one of those you touch it you own kind of things...

It's against the law to do that here. Not sure why, but it has been against the law for as long as I can remember- and this is TEXAS! So in California, well... good luck.

If you are going to dump on land rather then a sewage facility be sure to treat the sewage, with enough lime to kill, any pathogens . After treating with lime the sewage could be spread on the owners land in Oklahoma. At least a few years ago.

Thought was to pump it and take it to an RV disposal dump station and pay the fee... and get a receipt.

Just have not figured out the details.

There is the company about 20 miles away that has not returned his call... sounds like a small family business...
