Massey Fergussen, 1953
After much consideration, I decided to order a new 2630 with FEL. My Massey is running great, but I have a couple of kids and I am not comfortable with having them use it. I have about 4 acres of land to maintain, and about 1/2 mile of roadside to mow along a sandy road. I own a 60 in finish mower, and a 5 foot brush hog. I have been using a 1953 Massey T030 for the past 25 years, but wanted a safer and more reliable machine. Also, I trailer it about 100 miles twice each year and decided on a lighter machine. I was going to go for a 7610, but it was too dramatically smaller than what I have been used to. Since I decided to go up a bit, it seemed that the 2630 rather than the 3030 would make sense, and was about $1,000 less. I am having second thoughts though, and could still change my order. Should I get the 3030? Any thoughts?

Not sure if they are the same frame, but if your going to use the same attachments you probably won't regret the extra HP of the 3030 at the PTO. Seems like a small amount ($1000) if its not a problem for you. That's my two cents worth.

It really is a personal decision...no one know better than you what you may want.

I have a B2910, which is being replaced in the line up by the B3030. It is not a large tractor (might even be the same as the B2630, which I think replaces the B2710, don't have the specs handy). My gut is telling me that since you are stepping down in size, you might like having the extra HP at the PTO like Steve mentioned.

30 engine HP in the B3030 size frame is a good match, at least from what I have seen over the last couple years. What you don't want to do is buy too small and be unhappy with your decision. I imagine since you used the last tractor for 25 years you would like to be happy with the new one for at least that long... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Since you have been happy with your Massey. Have you considered the B7800. It should be less than the 2630 with the HP of the B3030.

Perhaps so...but the extra features of the B3030 can be so nice...like the extendable lower link arms...the suspension seat...and for the future, the B3030 takes the 4 point B75 backhoe, while the B7800 is limited to the 3PH type backhoe (at least at this point in time)...

Hey, I have no problem spending someone else's money! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The tractors are the same size. I've attached the specs on the two, if you want to compare.

Gee's. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
I get it from the B7800 owners when I suggest that the way to go is the priemum features of the B2910/B3030. Then when I suggest the B7800 I get it from the B2910/ and soon B3030 owners. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Ain't TBN great, trying to save and spend others money. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
