I know I can go to the manufacturers like Teleflex and Wescon and Cablecraft and have exactly what I want quoted, but I was hoping to just buy one or two for now, since that's all I need. Anyone have a good retail source who stocks this kind of stuff? Preferably with a website with an online catalog?

Thanks

If you need something like the old style steering cables for boats, you could just buy cable and ends at Tractor Supply and make your own.

TSC has the the stuff to make cables? I'll have to look on thier website. I was really wanting a complete assembly though, something that I could buy 50 of and they would all be the same. Thanks.

Jared try a Bearing supply or Fasenall company. Fleetpride and Truck Pro also come to mind as push pull Cables are often used in Trucks as PTO cables.

When I needed to remotely control the hydraulic valves for my Fisher snowplow installation I used a pair of dump truck PTO cables to actuate the valves.

These cables are the larger HD type 'throttle or choke' type cable and have nice big knobs attached.
They were thick and stiff enough to be usable in the push mode.

They have withstood 7 years of snow plowing operations, so I guess I can say they are good.
Bought them at an auto parts supply.

I don't know if you have a marina/boat supply someplace close but we bought a set of throttle cables from them last summer that were very inexpensive yet are very heavy duty.(I think 3/16" cable in plastic/rubber housing.) We paid $9.00 for 2 cables 7.5 feet long. We use them for the throttle cable on a go cart that has been run almost constantly since they were installed. They are still working perfectly.

Thanks for the info everyone. I hadn't thought of the truck supply companies. I just need to find one in West Palm Beach now. I had thought of the marine companies, but the shortest control cables I could find were about 6' long, and I only need about 3' of cable. Believe it or not, I had NOT thought of McMaster Carr. This is ironic because I order something from them for work at least once a week. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif They also have the lengths I want, so tomorrow I'm going to call them and find out what manufacturers they supply from. I guess I'd really like a Teleflex cable since they are a manufacturer who can supply lots of cables, all exactly the same, and they have a huge selection. Thanks for the help.
