Pushing out with FEL

I have a 3038 and am wondering how you got stuck and how you got it out. I assume you were in 4WD. Did you tap the brake to lock the rear differential?

I thought I was stuck a few weeks ago while trying to dig down into damp clay. I have R4's. I was in 4WD and was spinning the tires while trying to back out of the hole with a full bucket. After I locked the rear, I just let it spin and it slowly dug in and backed out.

I decided that my tractor just too traction limited with R4s to attempt that kind of work.

R4 in clay mud = useless!

The 3720 has been stuck multiple times along with the skidsteers and the curl technique always works. Have you reported the situation to Deere?

No, I haven't. You're right, I will. I was chalking it up to 'operator error'. It shouldn't be the case.

Yup, 4wd, low range, differential locked. The position I was in only allowed traction for 1 front and 1 rear wheel to be in contact with the ground - teetering. It was the first snow of the year and I escaped by driving forward and out through the field. Ain't gonna happen now with 2 feet on the ground.

I may be in the minority, but my finding is the same as you. I can't move the tractor from a full curl (deere 3120, 300cx loader). I assumed it was just a function of the loader geometry. If I don't do a full curl, but just to where the bottom of the bucket is vertical, it will move the tractor. It should be said, generally, I manage to really stick it. Last week, I managed to slide downhill and after some maneuvering, had the front wheels in mud over the center hub, and another 2 feet of snow. After making a mess, I was able to get out. Let us know what you find out from the dealer. Thanks.

I've notice on my L w/bucket at full curl just doesn't seem to have power to push back, but 2/3 curl or less not problem...more than enough press to pick front tires off ground tho.

Please let me know if you find this true after your little tire grooving experiment. If in fact you find that it is indeed quite advantageous, i will be attempting this project asap.

My experience with traction or lack there of, has been lack of tractor weight. The thing is to light to get any traction. I put Michelin Tires on the back and that helped tremendously. They clean and bite very well. Then I added 750lbs of weight on the rear and that has really made a big difference.

I was able to unstick mine by curling, but then the rears fell in and I successfully curled my way to the bottom. :) don't worry she looks like new again:)

Wow, that looks like a tough field to stay up on top of.
