Pushing out with FEL

It was, even while winching her out the wheels were more like plows. Ground was like a marshmallow once it broke through the top crust

I got stuck with my 3038 the other day where my driveway drops off quick. With My old Kubota B8200 I could put the FEL all the way to dump, drop straight down and curl the bucket to push the tractor back out. I tried that with the Deere and curling the bucket wouldn't do it. Just chattered. Once I got unstuck I tried it in the drive. I found if the bucket was fully dumped - slighty past verticle - the result was the same. When I payed attention to the angle of the bucket in the dump position and only brought it to verticle it would move the tractor backwards.
I didn't think there would be a point of dimmishing returns on the hydraulic cylinder if I brought the bucket past 90 degrees. Anyone else experience this?

I have a 4310 with a 430 loader and it has done the same all the time I have owned it. The bucket edge cannot be past vertical.

If it's past vertical it has to lift the frontend to curl. My 3120 is exactly the same. Don't worry about it.

I have used the FEL on both my NH and JD to pull myself out going forward and / or backward..Going forward I just lay the bucket down flat and then move it into the dump mode with down pressure and it will pull me out going forward...takes a number of times but I get out....and backward I put the FEL down with pressure in the full dump mode and then curl and walk it out that way...again it can take a few times...
