I agree with those who say not to worry.

But I am here to defend the HF float chargers. They are not as good as a battery maintainer by any means, but they do keep the voltage from dropping below a certain level. All they seem to do is apply a constant voltage and if the battery voltage is above that or equal to it, they essentially do nothing.

I have used them for about 10 years to keep my generator, tractor & lawn mower charged in off seasons and they have worked every year.

Someone else mentioned turning off well pump (or main incoming water shut of valve) and or bare minimum of turning off washing machine hose connection.

The HF chargers are OK the NEW ones are worse than the OLD ones were/are. I have 4 or 5 of them as well as one of the NEW processor controlled units that is nice to have. I have the old rider and a couple other OLDER batteries setting on the HF chargers and they work well enough.

That's not a concern. We have someone house-sitting for us. But good thinking.
