Putting fence in with ground frozen?

I would guess since you will be using an auger - the fence will have wood posts. I installed a five strand barbed wire fence around my 80 acres - one and a half miles. A lot was done in the winter - unfortunately. With my very heavy manual T-post pounder - the T-133 posts went in with little trouble.

You very seldom see a wood or formed plastic fence in this part of the world. Everything is cattle and stranded barbed wire.

Actually - thinking about it - there are a couple or three places where there are wooden fences. Those gated communities with the $750K and upward homes where wood fences have been installed. Nothing to do with livestock - its a rather PC/upward mobility thing.

This entire fence thing brings up a short story - if you will bear with me. An acquaintance, not really a good friend, came out from his gated community in the "big city" three years ago to visit us country folks and our bucolic ways. He did come out in his ultra expensive BMW SUV - so even though my driveway is a mile long and gravel - - thank God, he made it.

However, he was VERY upset as he drove into my yard. Somewhere on this mile long gravel trip - he had driven thru multiple piles of cow poo and it was all over one side and in his wheel wells on that side. He wondered why I had not installed fencing down the other side of the driveway so there would be no poo on the driveway.

He stated in very loud terms - "He would not be coming out here again until the driveway was fenced on both sides". I was satisfied - to no end.

Acoustic fencing is the effective fence to use . These are for affordable and effective acoustic barriers, noise reduction panels and noise fencing.
Acoustic fencing is a noise reduction panel, modular and versatile, formed to create acoustic sound barriers on construction sites. The Acoustic Fencing does not require foundation work and is extremely simple and quick to install. Also they can be reused time and time again. Mounting the panels next to each other to create a complete barrier system that allows a virtually seamless wall to contain the dust and noise of any construction or event site, in addition to being an effective visual barrier for promotion of the company branding.

I would hope after 13 years he was finished with the fence.

Ha - you never know because there is no completion post. He may still be out there angering away..........

the women here don't wait for ideal conditions when they get an idea.

This explains how our family and tribe grew so large. And there seem to have been many springs now to help the addition of the new fence.

I agree with Mike, Jim, and others. It's near impossible to put a fence in with the ground frozen. There are rock drills that you can get like was mentioned but they are very expensive. It may be possible to rent one if you can find it.
Wooden fence posts, like pine, can last up to 30 years, providing superior fence support. When used as corner posts, wooden fence posts should have a minimum length of 8 feet. For best results, set your wooden fence posts 24 to 48 inches deep into the ground. For rocky or sandy soil, set wooden fence corner posts more than 48 inches deep.
