Because you drilled that pesky little hole in the pin... oh the humanity! CYA response of course. They are in a bit of a catch 22. If they institute an 'improvement' they will be implying that the current design is faulty.I sent an email to Kubota Corp concerning this modification. Finally got a reply See below..........

Thank you for this information. Although this is certainly a clever way to secure this pin. It is not an authorized Kubota modification, and we do not condone or support the installation of it on our products. We do appreciate you as a Kubota customer and your thoughts regarding our products!

Exactly... and why would they? No benefit to the manufacturer... only potential liability.Unfortunate but not surprising. I doubt any of the many modifications made by many on here to any make would be "authorized, supported or condoned."
ovrszd, I can not see the pictures. Could you or someone tell me what I need to do to be able to see them. Thanks Bill

The same thing happened to me using my grapple to move and crush down brush. A branch pushed up the latch lever and while pushing down on the brush one side of the grapple came loose. Luckily I caught it before any damage. I can't see what you did either. Your pics don't come thru.
This is what did. No mod to the tractor. I made a hook from a piece of angle and an 8" long 1/2" bolt. Using the existing holes in the frame the bolt slides behind the lever below the pivot point. The hook holds the lever in the locked position.

You need a wrench to change attachments so it is not exactly QA anymore but I won't drop anymore attachments.

We had different issues Gordon. My problem was with the pins that hold the main brackets of the loader frame onto the tractor. I'm not sure why you can't see my pictures. I can see yours fine. I'm on a different computer now but I'll try to repost the pics sometime when I'm on my other cumputer. Nice solution to your issue!
