QA or bucket attached - that is the question?

I also have the Bradco compact forks. I got mine here - Inventory - Woodbury Tractor Company, LLC

They list the Bradco part number as - 108308 with a cost of $525 which is around what I paid for mine a couple of years ago.

Mine also look different than the picture you referenced and the one above so Bradco may have changed the design since I got mine.

I found a local fabrication outfit not too far from me which competes with Horst and has a whole line of forks, bale spears,buckets, weld on QA plates and so on.

Direct from the source $640 CDN for standard duty forks - 2000 lb capacity, 48" tines. $125 for the QA plate and heck they said that they would cut off the brackets and weld it on to my bucket for me for $100. I was going to do it myself but at that price a professional job sounds like the way to go.

The shop you found sounds reasonable. Over the long term, you will look back and wish you had done this modification sooner........... and i'm so sure i'll wager you a dollar on it !

Bradco must have a slightly new design and part number or something as I can't find 108308 on their web site.

I might make some calls around to some of the larger dealers that stock Bradco stuff to see if someone has a set in stock.

Here is the set that I priced out locally at $640 from Fluney Welding.

I talked to an implement guy I have dealt with in the past who said I should not consider the Horst 2000 lb ones as they have a sliding adjustable shaft. He thinks I should go for these with a capacity of 3700 lb at $850. I saw the ones he had in stock - the build quality was impeccable - but I think these are overkill and I'd rather not have folks weighing an extra 100 lb and spend more dough than is necessary.

SSQA is money well spent! To go from bucket to forks in 30 seconds is awesome! I have the same bradco forks as ducktape, they are well built, fairly easy to adjust and not too hard to manhandle with a handtruck if your machine isint handy.

Diffently go QA! I did mine begining of the summer of 09, Bought the main "tool carrier" from my dealer then I found Skidsteer express on the internet. Bought a good set of forks, reasonable and an adapter plate to modify another bucket. This company is a good reliable company to do business with and there is no shipping charges too, which can add up to. Bought from them twice and will use them again. I am so glad I did. I only have a snow plow and bucket right now. I am on the hunt for forks for firewood logs etc. The qa make switching a snap.
