Mark see the answers to your questions 3 posts above yours. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yes, we are moving forward, should be finished by spring. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Grapple's at least here in Northeast Ohio aren't very useful in the dead of Winter but if we get her finished up now it will be ready for us to use come warm weather. Glad the pole barn has heat to accommodate our work as it was really cold out there this morning before we turned the thermostat to heat.

Things are really looking nice, PineRidge. Do you know if Andy quit selling his grapples on ebay? I looked for him last week and they said he doesn't have any active sales. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I like the style of his grapple because it can easily be moved between my FEL bucket and my rock bucket. I can make the ATI grapple work, but it will require a lot more work than the one Andy sells. Shoot me a PM with his email if you get a chance. Maybe he quit selling on ebay because so many people wanted to just buy direct from him. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jim I also considered the ATI and then thought hey, why not just modify Andy's grapple to fit my need. We still plan on using a system similar to the ATI grapple to mount ours to the NH bucket. I'm not happy with the way the stock grapple that Andy makes bolts to the top of the bucket but that just my personal preference.

Andy has 2 eBay auctions underway see them both here.

I will also PM you Andy's email address in case you want to make any changes to the original design.

Deerlope the cylinder information is here

Andy is following this thread and you're going to make him think that I'll be manufacturing his grapple. That is not my intention Junk and Andy isn't or at least wasn't aware that you like to pull my leg here at TBN from time to time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This project is only for use on our own personal bucket. We're building one only, not going into manufacturing. Andy has been kind enough to give me some email assistance and added support so that the grapple will turn out right the first time around and I thank him for that.

He already spotted a problem with the way that I want to mount the cylinder even before the welding started. It seems that the rear cylinder mount if centered over the center lift arm pivot, will make removal of the center pivot pin impossible. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

So Andy is working with his CAD software to see if there is an easy fix. Possibly the rear cylinder mount can be lengthened and modified to serve a double purpose. To act as the center pivot mount as well as the rear cylinder mount. That way all the pivot pins can be pulled to remove the grapple from the bucket if need be.
