Question about B2620 suitcase weights...

Greetings folks...

So I found these suitcase weights on Craigslist for $350...Kubota front suitcase weights and would like to ask a couple questions:

1. Is the asking price reasonable? (I have no idea what these cost new)
2. Can the weights be mounted on my B2620 all the time, even with the FEL attached?
3. The seller lists part numbers for the bracket and weights. Are these the proper items for my B2620?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Price-isn't bad for the weights and brackets. I bought mine off Craig's List for $75- that was for 3 weights only.
FEL-you can't use the weights with the FEL attached on a B2620.
Right bracket? Can't help you with that.

Even if the holes are offset and you have a drill press you can modify it to fit. I did this L series bracket to my B6200.

Weights used usually for a dollar a pound. New they are $1.15-1.25+ a pound. It looks like the weights were on a B2320 so the bracket will fit your 2620.

Morning folks,

Thanks so much for the inputs. Since my posting I discovered weights are $71/each, the 5 bolt kits are $6/each and the bracket is $103 from the dealer. So figuring $488 from the dealer $350 isn't too back and only an hour away. I did notice on the B2320 in the ad pic that the front guard was notched to provide clearance for the bracket. I'd opt to get some 1" plate steel and fabricate some plate bushings to extend the bracket away another 1" or so to provide the clearance. nevertheless the $350 doesn't seem like a bad deal. Of course being from Boston and always wanting to haggle maybe he/she will settle for $300

I think the square washers on each weight, under the nut are supposed to be under the weight. I made something similar so the bolts would hold the weights good and snug.

Well I picked up the weights today; paid the full asking price of $350. It was worth it and the dolly he made was actually a beefed up mover's dolly that he had bought at Grainger that was valued at $85 (he provided the receipt). All-in-all a good score and I am pleased with the weights!!!

Do you plan on leaving the dolly attached to the set of weights when in use? That seems to be what the seller was doing with them.

Good morning...

I am going to put some fresh paint on the weights; they are like that chassis grey and I am going to paint them Kubota orange. Then, in order to avoid cutting the grill guard a bit I need to move the weight holding bracket 1" from the frame (to provide clearance for the grill guard). Essentially a 1" shim to move the bracket more forward. The previous owner had to take a metal saw and notch just a bit of the grill guard to make the bracket fit. It is a Kubota bracket but for whatever reason it will interfere slightly with the grill guard.

Since I am a woodworker I am simply going to take some 6/4 oak I have, plane it to the correct thickness and make a wood extension (painted of course). Since it will be bolted between 2 plates of steel (the frame and bracket) with six (6) Grade 8 bolts, it will be in compression and make a perfect extension.

No, when the weights are needed I will not be toting around the dolly too...
