question about helper springs/bags

Firestone makes a really slick air shock for the front on many pickups. They inflate like an airbag and raise the front for more capacity & fender clearance.

They're a Bilstein shock, so it's a darn good shock, too. I think that's what I'm going to go with on the front along with rear airbags.

The firestone bilstien fronts are only for gm product according to the riderite site. I'm really thinking hard on adding the bags front and rear.

The B&W hitch came in yesterday. That's one heavy SOB.
I'll get it in this weekend.
I was notified that my trailer will be here in a week or 10 days.

I can't believe I'm excited about getting a dump trailer. It's just another toy, er, tool to work with.

I installed my hitch Sunday.
I was straight forward but I won't say it was easy.
As a matter of fact, it whipped my butt. The easiest part I think was cutting the hole in the bed.
My back, shoulders, neck, hands...
Seems like everything hurts. It would probably be easier to list what doesn't hurt.

If my son hadn't wandered into the shop about the time I was going to hang the center section and helped me, I wouldn't have been able to finish. I was done, give out, finito! (sp?)

Bottom line though, it's in, it fit perfectly, and it looks good, if you think a gold ball sticking up in the center of your bed looks good.

Now I need something to pull with it.

No issues with the hitch mounting plates interfering with the air bags?
Note: I've used a chain hoist thru the hole in the bed to lift and hold the center section.

There was no interference issues and I was concerned about that. A friend installed a couple of these hitchs in Dodge pickups and Ford pickup with bags. He said there was a problem but if you knew you were going to install a hitch in those trucks with bags, you simply ordered the bag kit for that truck with a hitch.

I didn't have anything to lift the center section with, (no hoist or cherry picker) it was just luck that my son came around at the right time. I dropped a chain through the hole in the bed and he picked it up for me. I just guided it into place and put the bolts in.
