Question about Pat\'s Easy Change.

Just read as many of the old posts as I could find here and on several other forums. Been thinking of ordering several sets of them. Cat I and Cat II. Could find a real answer. MY question is while from the pictures they look well made. I see a weak point. That little screw sticking up on top. Just waiting to get broke off. What is that? Is it needed. Drop a chain on it, back in to anything or even if my bull rams it (don't ask, I have 1900+ bull that hates tractors) it will break off or at least be bent. Just wondered if it is necessary?
thanks
John Deere gets it done! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Question about Pat\'s Easy Change.

When you lift up the part that clamps the 3pt pins in, you can put that screw up under it to keep the locking mechanism from relocking while you're trying to unhook the implement from the Pat's. It's not really necessary, and as a matter of fact, both of mine vibrated out and fell off somewhere. I didn't usually need them anyway. The part the screw is screwed into moves over to get it up under the lifting part of the locking mech., move it out when you want to lock in. John
