Kubota L2500
Attached is a picture from the parts manual of my L2500. The gray item is listed as 32400-17720 and is a screen in front of the radiator. I don't have one but some items in my parts manual are shared with the 4wd model.

Question...does anyone have this screen and if you can can you shoot a picture and post it here for me? Any thought on it's usefulness and aid in cleaning out goatweed blooms and stuff.

Thanks,
Rob

My B7800 has a similar screen (6C040-58530) in front of the radiator that is easily removable (slides in vertical channels on either side of the rad). I don't have a picture of it now, I'll try to get one tomorrow and post it. There's no goatweed in my neck of the woods, but the screen does collect leaves and other debris before it can clog the air passages in the radiator. I replace the screen in the winter with a sheet of corrugated plastic with a 6" x 6" hole in it to get the engine to run warmer in the cold weather.

Rob, I can't say mine really looked like that picture, and I don't remember part numbers, but my B series tractors did have a screen right in front of the radiator and they did catch a lot of grass seed, dust, grass, and other debris. I don't think I'd want to be without it.

No such device on my B3030
My B3030 has a screen that slides in front of the radiator. Does not look like your drawing though.

We have an M series at work that has a screen on it. It looks like the one BrianW posted. It does catch a lot of junk and it easy to clean out when it needs it.

My L2550 has one. You pull it out on the lefthand side to clean. It picks up trash that would otherwise be caught in the radiator. But if I remember correctly, it won't come out with the loader attached.

My L3000DT has a screen in front of the radiator that slides out horizontally. It collects a little bit of weed chaff and the like while mowing and I guess keeping garbage out of the radiator is a good thing. I replace it with a piece of heavy cardboard in the winter.

I happen to have a L2550dt parts manual and it looks like the fan on that one pushes air back to front? So if you are looking at the tractor, the screen is between the radiator and the operator? Sort of like my BIL's JD350 crawler, the fan pushes air through the radiator instead of pulling it.

My L2500 pulls it front to back. Are the B models usually pullers or pushers? :D

Rob - I think the B7800 has the exact same setup as the B3030 as posted by Brian above. Attached are a rather shaky photo of the screen for my B7800 and a less shaky photo of where it installs in front of the rad. (The white sheet is my winter replacement for the screen.) The fan on the B7800 is a "puller", front to rear. And yes, the screen does keep a lot of crud out of the radiator fins.

Good shot, I see the B's hood pops up. Mine doesn't, just the side panels come off.

Thanks,
Rob

I used the tractor (L2550) today and didn't think about the question. I'm pretty sure mine is in front of the radiator. I'll check tomorrow.

Me either. The B3030 grill seems to catch everything before it gets to the radiator screen. I seem to recall a post hear with a B3030 grill loaded with dandy lions. I think it was posted as my B3030 grew a beard!

I have a baby bota (bx2230). I know that it certainly has a screen before the radiator, and it does catch a lot of grass, etc. Probably does not apply to your situation, though I imagine all Kubotas have alot of similar design features. Besides, thought I would chime in as I have tractor envy.

I have a L3400 and I am pretty sure its got a screen as you describe - I will check an if so post a pic. Just looked in the manual and it does - between the air cleaner and the radiator

I think it's a good idea to keep a screen in front of the radiator fins, whichever way the air flows through it. It's especially important when bushogging, to catch all the chaf. If you don't have one, and if an OEM part would be too expensive, you could probably just use some aluminum window screen.
