2008 BX 1860
I just purchased a KK, TG 48 XB tiller for my BX 1860 after the great advice I got on this site. Bought it from local Farm and Garden. The kid that sold it to me stated that the gear cases are full, ( I'll check anyway), but I will need to grease the unit. No big deal. He said he believed it would take 6 to 8 tubes of grease. According to the manual there is only one fitting on the hub end and a couple on the PTO shaft. If it takes that much grease, it sounds like I will be pumping for quite a while through that one zerk. Anyone have experience with these. Thanks

He may have meant 6 or 8 pumps

He may have meant 6 or 8 pumps

That's about what I put in my new XB Tiller. 5 or 6 pumps, then played with it in the garden some ,then gave it a few more pumps & checked the gear boxes again. Did add alittle 75W140 gear oil in both gear boxes. The gear boxes come filled with a real thin grease.

When I bought my KK tiller years ago they told me they were not shipped with gear oil and I needed to buy that also. This was at a Tractor Supply outlet. Be sure and check all the lubrication points.

Six or Eight tubes of grease would about do a D8 dozer I would think. Must of have been a misunderstanding or a young employee doing the best he knew how.
