How do I find out the exact year of my tractor

   / question #2
That is a toughie. Usually tractor models are ranges of years. Your best start is to list your tractor model here, as well as your serial number if possible. Perhaps someone can point you toward a database, or look up the answer and let you know. For myself, I know what year I bought my tractor (new) but I don't know the year it rolled off the assembly line.

It would help if we knew if it was a US or European tractor. There are certain clues such as the air cleaner type than can aid it determining the approx age. Without a serial number tag we can only guess. If it's a Perkins diesel the engine has history with Perkins as for it's manufacture date. If it's a Continental 4 cylinder gas, the serial tag in on the left side above the voltage regulator or later models on the lower left on the dash. The style as to how the tag is made also gives a clue, if the engine block tag is still there. Pictures of your prize posted here would help as well. -kid
