Questions About 425 Attachments

My thoughts are equipment dollys take up space and require physical labor to move around. You have a PT with a quick attach! Let it do the work. It takes me maybe 2 minutes to unload the entire garage of implements and set them in the driveway, then another 2 minutes to put them all back.

I used an "industrial" rack from Costco. While it works, I grossly underestimated the down force that the PT can generate, and bent one of the racks.

I should have used the green/orange locking industrial shelving.

If you have a garage, MossRoad's solution is pretty quick. I have mine tucked various places around the ranch, with the smaller ones on a rack, and the bigger ones on the ground. Having pallets on the ground around here is an invitation to rattlesnakes, termites, and ground squirrels. Concrete blocks work better- fewer snakes, and the cats can get the rodents.

All the best, Peter

I built some shelves out of wood... and promptly broke them with accidental down-force. Now I just stack and nest them on top of each other.

Moss and Peter,

Stack instead of rack...hmmmm. When I take delivery I will try it out. No sense in going to more trouble than necessary.

Thanks

The only thing I'd be concerned about when stacking is my finish mower blades. I was worried about putting the blades on top of something, like the quick attach of the brush hog, and bending them.... it hasn't happened in 17 years. But I'm still careful. Also, be wary of attachment hose placement. Again, I haven't pinched one in 17 years. When I disconnect my brush cuttter, finish mower, or snow plow, I just set the hoses down on the deck and don't loop them over the top of the implement. That way, they are out of the way of anything I may stack on top of it. ;)

Play around with it, you'll find the ideal setup for your individual needs.

Thanks Moss 👍

I put some of them on a covered pallet rack and you still have to be careful not to bend the rack.

Thanks to all for your input. Much appreciated.

Attachments are pretty much set. Going to keep it simple as far as storage.

Great forum

Yesterday we got about 10 inches of heavy wet snow, the pt 422 handled it without problems. Wish I had the wheel kit for the plow P1010007 (2).JPGP1010008 (1).JPGP1010009 (1).JPG

We were just discussing the value of the 4 in 1. OK at everything, great at nothing. Get a grapple, and buy a bucket with a toothbar. You will be way happier. Pushing dirt / snow requires the correct tool. I don't push any dirt so others will chime in.

The PT is not an exceptional machine at ground engagement. It isn't bad, but the torque and beef in a "normal" tractor is much more condusive to ground work. I maintain a mile long dirt road, no problems, I do cut trails on the hillsides of my property (something of a problem with 8 tires).

The PT does everything good, none of it great. It is hugely versatile, and outside of plowing a field IMO better than any tractor I have worked with. Stay away from the power rake btw. I don't know of anyone who has bought it who didn't try to sell it in a year.

I've had my power rake for almost a year... Guess I'm running out of time with it

Hey Impulse,

What do you think of it? What have you done with it and found it useful for? Any gravel driveway maintenance?

Thanks
