New Topic: I'm still quite confused about the status of the 1500 series Massey tractors. In early 2015 they were supposedly discontinued when Massey was out with their 1700 and 1700e series of cut units. I didn't even think there were any new1500s out by mid 2015. Yet even with brochures gone and none showing in dealer showrooms, I know some who were buying new units in late 2015 and 2016 and have even heard some got some later than that. My irrational is, when we're they no longer viable or are they still available. They were a very attractive offering of features and comfort.

Jmho

They brought back the 1526 simply because there was customer demand. Massey originally did away with the 1500 series when they released the 1700E series. I don't know if they really intended the 1700E to take the place of the 1500 series, or if the timing was just a coincidence, because they are nothing a like. For comparison, the 1500 is similar in size to the Kubota B series and the 1726E is equivalent to the Kubota L2501. So without the 1500 series, Massey has a big gap in its product line. There was sufficient customer demand, so they brought the 1526 back. They likely did NOT bring the 1529 back because of emissions requirements. If you look, the 1526 is back up on the Massey website as well.

interestingly enough I just noticed it as well, i am considering upgrading but i dont want something a whole lot bigger, the 1526 would fit that bill (I dont use the backhoe much on my TLB) it is an interesting product, with a great price

Greetings Jimmie,

Obviously first hand visits of places helps a bunch. However I wrote some threads back in 2015 comparing the dl100 fel to the dl95. And the backhoe choices too.

The dl100 fel was a fine unit and was on the gc23xx gc24xx, and gc26xx and the first 2 years of the gc17xx series. But it's weight handling capacity was much smaller than was the dl95 unit. The dl95 and dl100 were both available in 2015 even though the gl100 series first came out in 2013. When I bought my gc1715 I specified I wanted a unit with the dl95 and not the dl100 (which were still available until later 2015). The dl95 design did much better protecting of the hydro lines and routing as well. As I prior mentioned the original specs on each often just used the dl100 specs but they were quite different when Massey finally got brochures and catelogs properly updated.
Just a single example of how they were different but many didn't know was the attachment pins used for the bucket to fel attachment. Most scuts like kubota's etc. used 3/4 inch or warmer and massey used heavier 1 inch pins because most scuts did not need more than the 3/4 for lifting strength. But the metal of the dl95 arms was sized heavier and the pins on the dl95 were heavier built than1 inch too. Even a 1 inch pin was not enough for proper engineering safety. . So the dl95 has a heavier pin than did the dl100. It all shows when the units were actually tested.

I like the heavier construction of the dl100. The dl95 has nicer grease fittings, but, there is a hole drilled all the way through the pin, weakening it. I also prefer the hard lines more than the rubber lines.

Neither here nor there. To each his own.

Not to burst any bubbles, it does look like Massey may have their own factory quick attach now.
See this youtube video. And this video.
...

Hello Fiziksgeek,

Thanks for posting those links.

Oh well, if I knew this existed, it would save me some design time...
I tried to search for factory MF quick attach for DL95 but could not find any, these videos are quite new too, January 2018

My design is very similar, I have a hook on the top bracket, should make the task of hooking up the implement on uneven terrain much easier.
I can see that shallow receiver on the top could cause some trouble if implement is not level.

I will carry on with my design, but will check with local dealer here to see if they can get it and how much would it be here in Canada.

It was a new discovery for me as well. I literally stumbled into the youtube video...

Massey is not great at releasing, or at least announcing the availability of new options. As you pointed out, those videos are new, within the last month or so. However, the price listing that I found via a google search would indicate that it was available all of 2017. Yet, I haven't seen anyone with a recent tractor purchase showing off the QA. I sent my dealer an inquiry, I'll let everyone know what sort of information I hear.

Hi acmercg, that's good information.
Do you know if that price includes the four pins as well?
I am planning to stop at local deler later this week, need to pick up some shear bolts for my snow blower, so I will ask them how much would it be up here in Canada.

Thanks,
Roman

Who's your dealer? I was just quoted ~$339 from Goffs.

The dealer also said the pin type QA is 41lbs. Which is ~25 lbs lighter than a tach-n-go.

I had also asked about the SSQA options seen on that price list and the pin on forks I see in the agcopartsbook. Was told the SSQA is for a the 1700 series, not the GCs. The pin on forks show as "no longer available" in his dealer price list. But he sent a message off to Massey to see if it was something that is coming in the near future...maybe not quite for sale yet. We'll see.

He said, and I completely agree. Other manufacturers are really stepping up the game when it comes to attachments and flexibility, so Massey will need to answer if they want to stay in the market!
