I have a Kubota MX5100 with a category II 3 point lift and I am considering a quick attach system. I have both category I and II attachments. Does this require two different quick attach systems, or is is there one where I can use either? I found an old thread about a system that would handle both, but it appears that is no longer available.

If you're writing about a quick hitch, I think you'll need two different hitches. IIRC, the spacing between the 3PH links on the attachments differ. The attached file provides the dimensional differences between the categories

An alternative would be Pat's Easy Change (I think that's what they're called...but it's Pat's Easy something. This system only works on the lower links (draft arms), but in my experience, that's the hardest part of the hook up. I had the Pat's system several years ago and sometimes I regret not keeping it (sold it with a Deere 790 I'd owned). I have a Quick Hitch, but the Pat's system is more versatile, IMO.
I think the Pat's system (which is sold through the TBN store, amongst other places) has both Cat I and Cat II systems. I'd buy the Cat II system and use bushings on the Cat I implements.

Good luck!

Quick addition: No matter which system you buy, it's going to extend the implement back about 4 inches. Any PTO powered implement might need a longer drive shaft or a PTO extender (Agri-Supply and Tractor Supply both have these)

Thanks for the information. I walked over to the attachment pad this morning and almost everything is category I, so I am going with the category II to category I system. I can change the the only category II implement to category I pins easily enough. For the price it is cheap back insurance!

All QHes use CAT 3 size pins. You just put bushings on the smaller category pins. The problem you will have is the CAT 1, 2 & 3 specs all specify different widths between the lift arms. So a CAT 1 QH will be to narrow for where the pins or clevises are on your CAT 2 impliment. Unless you got one that has double clevises set to both widths. I love my QH, but some impliments need to be modifiied to fit even if all my gear is only CAT 1.

Also note that just because an implement has CAT 1 (or whatever size) pins on it that a QH will fit. Been there, done that! (had Pat's Easy Hitch, or whatever it's called, and gave up on that as well). Headaches became big enough that I changed out (got rid of) one implement and completely dropped the use of any QH. My B7800 is the worst thing to hook implements up to, turn buckles; having the removable pin connectors on implements is the best solution; link arms are slack enough that they can be moved about and set to fall in the slots- raise the 3pt and pin. My NX5510 has a ton of adjustments and I've found that with all of these it doesn't take too long to hook anything up- I have a mix of implements, with my RC being totally non-QH compatible (I'm contemplating having it customized, but for now I'll just keep contemplating- if the Kioti's hitch wasn't so adjustable the mod would have already been done).

While probably not going to affect your tractor much, DO note that QHs extend implements out further, more levered weight. And the other thing to watch out for is the affect of extending the attachment point has on your PTO shafts. The used RC I'd bought for my Kioti had a marginally long enough PTO shaft (OK, really, it was likely too short); if I'd pushed it out further with a QH it probably would have become a lot more obvious of a failure (than it turned out to be- bent the shaft).

Quick hitches are very handy imo. but you do have to measure all the implements to see whether the spacing between pins is correct. I spent the better part of a day fitting up about 12 implements to work with the IMatch cat 1 hitch. Since then I have quit swearing during attachment changes, in most cases I can hook up without leaving the tractor seat. Most cases I can switch between different implements in a minute or two. Still have to hook up pto shafts and set parking stands on some implements but that beats fighting them too.

I gave my brother Pats quick hitch or an unit much like it and not sure it worked well for him. Much large tractor with only Cat 2 hitch and implements. No idea what the lower lift arms are like on your tractor on my B2710 they are simple arms with out extendable ends on them My larger tractors both have lift arms you can release the implement end and get maybe 4 to 6 inches or extension to help hitch and to me that works very well. I have no idea if Kubota has them for your tractor nor the cost you it would not requiring any modification of any implement or would not move implement back causing any pto shaft issues. But one of the best things to help is to to have implement on stand or such to keep it in position for hooking back to it. I am as guilty as many as I will just drop the implement with no consideration on hooking back up then realize dummy you did not set it level side to side or front to rear.

Yeah, I drop stuff off all over the place. I have no real spot that's level and flat, just places that are approximates.

I believe that I'd read that I might be able to utilize adjustable lower link arms from a B2710 (or a B2910?). I poked around a bit and the costs appear to run about $200. I'm kind of at the point now where all the attachments (except a couple that are used very infrequently) attach via removable pins. The smaller implements can be manhandled a bit. With the Kioti now doing the bulk of my work there's even less incentive on changing anything on the B7800.

I'd STILL like to not have to be hooking up the top link all the time! (jenkinsph's note is an important one vis a vis convenience) And with the hydraulic top link on my Kioti it makes for hooking up more work than a non-hydraulic one (where you can adjust right there), having to pop into the cab to change the length. If my rotary cutter could be hooked up to a QH I'd have a QH (for this very reason).

I have the cheap QH from Agri Supply. It came with the top hook that protrudes further out than some of the HF units I've seen. After adapting all my implements to fit I can pick up and drop off most without getting out of the seat.

I made pins with clips to hold the top hook so I can easily remove it to use the mower adapter. I leave the top mower adapter on and just flop it forward when I'm using the top hook.

This Good Works Tractors re-sells a Speeco quick hitch that supposedly does NOT require bushings.
I'm thinking of going for a Pats Easy Hitch - I think I will use my post hole digger arm bar for other lifting so need the open space.
