Quick change link arms

I'm new to 3-point attachments. What is the difference between the Greenwell units and this unit from Land Pride? When would you want one as opposed to the other?

With the quick tach in the picture you have to have your implements all at that width. The quick tach actually attaches onto your 3 point arms. Now you have to have all of your implements at that width to work with your quick tach. With the Greenwell it's just like having your regular three point arms. The greenwell system attaches onto the end of the three point arms.

Personally I think the telescoping draft links do much better than the coupler system.

With the Pat's easy change system, Gives flaexibility between different width implements. Getting your lift arms hooked this the hard part. The top link hooks by hand.
The easy change system, top link stays flexible for mowers and bushogs. Installed on each lift arm and used them for all implements. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
On the quick hitch width is fixed, the top link is also fixed if it fixs your implement it works well.
Most implements are not the same width even in the same band. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If u make these, what about a set that replaces the NH sliding style lower links.
I think u would have to watch length of pto shafts w/ this extension. )</font>

Yes you have to watch length of pto shafts also with all quick hitchs

I don't see how those are much of an improvement over the sliding NH lower links. Still have to get off the tractor for the top link, sides (lowers) take no time at all.
How you going to keep both lowers from moving in/out as you're raising them? Every time I try that one moves and ends up underneath something on the implement. Easier to stop an inch short of touching and use the sliding links to make it quick and easy. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

yea i agree about the sliding links, when i got my ford 8000 one of the links was stuck in so i never used them, after i fixed it and tried them i use them all the time. one of the best additions to the 3pt ever, much better than any sorta silly latch type mechanism, with pats little things you no longer have the ball joint that is supposed to allow the 3pt to move properly side to side. i would rather see someone come up with add on extendable links than any sorta latch mechanism

I'm confused, which isn't hard to do.

How does the ball joint allow the 3pt to move side to side? I can see where the ball joint would allow very slight forward and backward movement but not side to side. Any side to side movement would be limited by the locking pins, correct? Tryin' to learn here.

well yea i suppose on most compacts the implements are held rigid by the stays so that they cant sway side to side, but on tillage tools like a plow or 3pt disk they are often allowed to move side to side, or else it would be next to impossible to turn at all with the implement in the ground. thats why they have ball joints in the first place, if there wasnt a need to allow the 3pt to sway side to side then they could just put a regular hole in the end of the arm it probably isnt a concern on most compacts tho since few use tillage tools anyhow.
