Is it normal for quick disconnects to seep fluid when not used and the equipment working under a heavy load?

That's the only time mine doesn't leak! Just joking of course. One of my couplers needs to be replaced. In all seriousness they should not leak (coupled or decoupled). At least mine didn't until one started to go bad.

I have a GC 2310 which I am very happy with ...
I have been using my back hoe to dig a trench and have the job about ½ done so on the 3rd day I go out and move tractor to the Job and Nothing on the back hoe works....HYD> so I look to see if I can find any thing that is wrong and all looks right.. there is only one line in and one line out of the back hoe
I pull and tug on them both and they are tight and no leaks so
I get my brother to haul the GC2310 to the dealer for me
I call the dealer to let him know the tractor is on its way.
He asked if I had disconnected and then
reconnected the hyd lines
I told him NO as I had checked them..
He told me that is most of the time what the problem is ..WELL
What does he KNOW...
The mechanic goes and dis connects the hyd lines then re connects them
and NOW all is working...... ((( EGG on my face)))

As Doug mentioned in his reply, just disconnect and reconnect the leaking couplers.
Occasionally, a spec of dirt might prevent the couplers from sealing. I haven't had to do this with either of my tractors, but I have to tap the stem of the couplers to reseal them or clear out any dirt on the seats. Not a big deal, but I do suggest if you disconnect them and reconnection doesn't stop the leakage, you try tapping on the ends of the couplers. Use a rag over the males ends to soak up any hydraulic fluid that might spurt out. If you have safety glasses or goggles, you might want to wear them when doing this.
