2019 Kioti NX5510 randomly won’t start

Good morning-

I posted this in the Kioti forum yesterday but am reposting here for a larger group. Thanks for any advice.

My NX5510 developed some kind of problem today and now it won’t start. I’m hoping someone may have some good advice.

Background notes:
-I was running it for a couple hours of normal bush hogging and it was running fine. I parked it and cut it off for about an hour and after that it wouldn’t start.

-It’s a shuttle shift and when I turn the switch on, the shuttle shift lever shows it’s in neutral, no matter what position it’s in.

-Thought it might be the seat safety sensor. It seems to be pressure operated, so I took it off from under the seat and tried manually holding the switch mechanism down…No change in starting.

-It showed “Error code 007” & Error Code 008 sometimes.

-I drained the fuel filter in case it might be water in the fuel.

-I disconnected the battery and reconnected it to try to clear the error code.

I’m at a loss for what to do next. Thanks for any help.

I have found my dk45se won't start (even turn over) and I jiggle the forward/reverse shifter and the L/M/H range shifter while trying the key. So far this has worked every time for me.

Of course always start with the easy things then move on, like cleaning your battery terminals, testing voltage of your battery etc.

I did have to replace the Ignition switch but I can't remember the exact symptoms. That was about 10 yrs ago or so.

Thanks- I’ll give it a shot. I’m wondering if the problem is related to a sensor with the forward/reverse shifter, since the dash constantly shows “N” no matter what position the lever is in.

Me too. It sure seems fishy that its acting that way. On mine I can actually feel the detents when I shift it. If yours is like that it kinda implies the switch could be the culprit. Maybe try getting under it and activating the switch manually see if that clears it and also see if there is some debris in the way.

The Kioti NX tractors are becoming notorious for electronic gremlins in the electrical system.
Depending on your electrical/mechanical prowess you could try and just jumper pass all the "safety" Sensors.
Does it crank at all? If it does you could run a wire from your battery to the electrical solenoid to cause the fuel to be turned on to the injection pump
You would have to see if there is an electrical lift pump to the injection pump and that would have to be jumped.
Can you manually clutch the tractor and place into gear just to be able to drive it onto a trailer?
Check to see if power is going to the starter. That is an easy jump from the main large cable to get the solenoid engaged to start the engine.

Thanks for the info. I like the brand also. Mine is a ‘19 and it’s been pretty solid so far.

I’m not getting anything from the starter, but dash is lighting up like normal.

One change today is that forward/reverse shift lever is showing a different indication on the dashboard. Previously, the dashboard was indicating “N” no matter what position the lever was in.

Dashboard still indicates error code 008.

I located the safety control module. I’m going to order a replacement and try to switch it out and then go from there.

Located near Clemson, SC. Always great to have help troubleshooting if you’re in the area by chance.

If its not indicating N, it wont start. My DK45 has a switch on the HML range shifter that controls this. If it isnt working and was stuck in neutral, maybe thats why it used to start. Could you start it when it was in say…High range before ?
