Kubota MX5200
quick hitch.JPGHello all. I am the proud owner of a new Kubota MX5200. It has the FEL, the 72" Landpride box blade and the 72" Landpride cutter. I also have the dealer installed Quick Hitch. When I took delivery, it had the cutter attached. Worked well on one lap around the field. Switched to the box blade. Had to drop the top connect point hook a click to get it to hook up. Now, when trying to put the cutter back on, the only way to get the top one on is to put a jack under the aft end of the mower to change the angle. This is with the draw bar fully extended. I'm hoping that I'm making a newbie mistake, because this seems silly. All feedback is appreciated!

It looks like the top piece is not rolling downward. Maybe it should be greased to allow it to lower, which in turn would make the hitch section roll forward. Pulling the top section of the hitch should straighten it out, gravity should do this when it is working properly.

If you did not get the manual with the QH, you need to download from the LP Web Site; they are free, same for the mower. The mower top link has to have the float attachment to allow the mower to follow the terrain and keep the front from digging into the ground. The Manuals explain all this stuff. I tried my mower w/o the float plates and quickly re-installed them, now I leave them on the mower. I find adjusting the top link is usually required when connecting and disconnecting.

I believe it is rotating just fine, just not able to physically do so with the current bar there.

Cobalt, looks like you should unlatch the QH at the bottom (both sides) drop the 3 point arms disengaging the implement, push the upper arm of the implement towards the tractor and raise the QH to catch all 3 connections, latch up and go.

You mention the drawbar being fully extended? What does it have to do with the Quick Hitch function?
Your top link is unscrewed pretty far. What do you have remaining for threads on it? Wouldn't want to get it too close to the end of its travel.
With only one pic its difficult to see what else could be adjusted to get things where they need to be.
Can you give us more pics, different angles, including showing the available adjustments for the hog/mower?

+1

It seems that your RC has a float feature which has allowed the top link attachment point to fall backward. Just unlatch the QH, lower the 3pt, push the top link connector on the RC back upright and lift 3pt - should be good to go.

Note if you changed the position of the Hook on the QH to fit another implement, you might have to change it back as well.

Good Luck & Happy Tractoring.

I may have misspoken. The top link, not the draw bar, is fully extended. I'll try to get some more pictures this week, it is up North. Thanks!

Remember you are flying blind w/o the manual for the QH and mower. As I said; easy to get on-line.

Ron

Thank you Ron. I downloaded the manuals, as suggested. No direct guidance to the above. Thanks!

I have a hydraulic top link which is about the most awesome accessory a 3pt can have for changing the angle of attack on 3pt attachments. A hydraulic top link would also solve your attaching hassle.

My neighbor had the same problem but without the quick hitch. The top point on the mower pivoted back and needs to go foreword, yours is leaning back. It should go straight up. You may have to loosen some bolts to do it. Good luck.

The only way this works:

The owner's manual talks about these links, I made mine. 5-1/2 spacing on the holes.

The black link on the bush hog is designed to move around. It's currently rotated to far back. Push the top of the bush hog 3 point attachment towards the tractor. The black link should be more parred to the ground I think. Not so vertical. Then the top of your quick hitch will reach
