I recently ordered a quick hitch from Agri supply online. When ordering, I had two options a Cat 1 that had a width of 301/4", vs a Cat2 With 37" width. All of my implements are Cat1 and the widths fall right around the 30" mark. So I ordered the Cat1.

The hitch arrived today and unfortunately the ball of the lift arms will not fit in the slot on the back of the quick hitch. The slot is about 1/4" too narrow. Looking over the specs on the Cat2 quick hitch it most likely would not have this problem but the hitch would be too wide for my tractor and implements.

So trying to figure out a way to rig this up. I see two potential options. 1. Buy two bolt on lift arm pins, drill the holes larger in the quick hitch and bolt them on attaching the lift arms to the outside of the quick hitch. 2. Find longer roll pins and use these to attache the lift arms on the outside of the quick hitch.

I'm assuming option 1 will work, thinking option two there may be two much play side to side with the roll pins shifting.

Anyone else run into issues similar to this or have other ideas how to retrofit.

That Cat 1 width is too much. The distance out to where the pins go into the lift pin ends are about 27 or 28 and some inches.

I have seen people grind down the balls so they will fit. Not sure if you want to go this route or not but it will get the job done.

I learned something here that all things CAT1 should be the same but there not. My cheap 3 year old Harbor Freight QH fit perfectly and continues to give good service. Just sayin; in case you want to return that one and get the HF hitch.

Sounds like your 3 point hitch is a Cat 2 and the lower link swivelly balls won't fit on the QH slot, yes?

HF no longer sells the quick hitch :-(. I got a gift card for Agri supply and hence the reason I went that route.

According to TD, the LS MT352 has a Cat I 3ph. TractorData.com LS MT352 tractor information

I *assume* this is the tractor the OP has per his posted info.

Its actually a Cat2 Hitch per spec from my owners manual, but not a real cat2 hitch as I am learning. The balls are cat2, but the width and height of the top link are all cat1 specs. I can't use a cat2 quick hitch as all my implements are cat1. I'm going to try mounting some lift arm pins on the quick hitch and see if that works.

Need photo, some lift arms the balls are replaceable. Some the balls can be rotated 90 degrees for the other size.

Back of quick hitch in image below. Width of the ball on the end of my hitch is lager than this slot.

Hi All,

Newbie here and having some issues with the front hitch on my Kubota Grand L6060. There are two lights in the cab that show if the implement is locked or unlocked. I put my snowblower attachment on for a recent huge snowfall in here in CO. After clearing snow I was able to unlock it (red light shows it's unlocked) but it won't disengage when setting down. It also won't re-lock. To lock the implement, the procedure is to lift the attachment all the way to the top, hold down the front hitch button then press the joystick forward but not all the way to float. When working correctly, the attachment won't lower on the forward press and will just lock and light turns green. Right now, it will always lower and won't re-lock. Feels like it's stuck in an unlocked position but also won't allow me to disengage the attachment. More snow on the way...

You problem is ball is to fat not that QH is to narrow.... Grind ball to fit....

My QH (different brand than yours) is also 1.5 inches, and ball ends on my MF lift arms fit exactly as they should...

Can you see the hydraulic cylinder rod move when you engage the close or open buttons Cbeck?

Really sounds like implement and QH are in a bind situation and not aligned properly to release or re-engage.... Probably need to float implement on ground or up on wood blocks and check to see if hooks/lathes are disengaged and if so use big hammer or pry bar to assist release....

True that HF's QH is discontinued, however, just 3 weeks ago I went to my local HF and they still had 3 in stock in the back room. I bought one for $110 and it is working fine. You may want to check.

Same problem, same tractor. The hitch is actually considered Cat 1/2. Basically is compatible with both if you use sleeves on cat 1 pins to make it fit cat 2. I actually returned my QH that was supposed to allow it to work but didn't. Best option might be a cat 2 from Pat's, but will need the adapter pins or have the qh slot widened at a fab shop. Could possibly order a set of cat 1 arms from the MT342, but I don't know if they are long enough or if the pin at the tractor is the same.

I don't know if you want to hear this, but Cat1 are not designed robust enough for power over 40 hp. I note that yours is 52. In fact 40 is probably too much. I have at 37 hp Kubota and with a shredder I have bent my Cat1 to the point where I had straighten bent pieces and welded steel to it to make it stronger. If you but cheap Chinese hitches you are likely to find they are light duty; part of the issue. Comparing weights between hitches can help identify how well built they are.

You have already discovered that the tractor arms are designed for Cat 2. The other part to the design is the width of the arms from one side to the other, unless you have already adjusted the sway linkages to narrow them to Cat 1 width.

I think the real problem may be that you have and want to use Cat 1 implements, but you have a tractor designed for Cat 2. It's up to you how you want to proceed. One option is to sell the hitch and implements then buy what you need. If you sell used and buy used the difference may not be worth the trouble of trying to modify your tractor.
