Quick hitch question

   / Quick hitch question #21
It's true you have to hook up the PTO shaft. And the QH makes it harder for sure. I'm not sure what is going on with the spacing that is referred to but all of my Cat II implements have the same spacing and the Cat I implements that I use I have modified to fit. With a cab tractor it's just easier with a Qh and hyd toplink. to me at least.

That's why I have 5 tractors for my little farm. The 3910 and 3000 have Cat II Pat's Quick hitches and they are hands down better than straight lift arm connectors for a guy who farms alone. The 6530 is also Cat II and has adjustable lift arm tips and they are priceless. The 3000 didn't come with Cat II lift arms. Got tired of bending the Cat Is so I upped the ante to Cat II now with the QH and works great.

A thing that no one seem to address is the QH standard, all the whines are about implements that don't fit, no matter what category hitch is...

Problem lies in either manufacturers are slow to convert their product to meet the QH standard or people that have pre QH implements that do not adhere to QH standard... Solution for each implement is to modify them to fit you flavor of QH (cat 0,1,2,3).... Do it one time to each implement and life will be good forever... If all implements are the same "standard" you back up to implement raise 3PH/QH, click, done (except for PTO connect) ...

Remember as you have a PTO connection to make, you have to get off/out of tractor regardless.
One caution of Pat痴 or the QH type items, if you have already cut a PTO shaft, you may have to replace it as either style hitch will add distance between the tractor and implement (ask me how I know).

Actually, you can buy a PTO extender that cancels that 4" that quick hitches and Pat's add to the lift arms. You can get them for between $30 and $40 - way less than replacing a PTO shaft!

I need a PTO extender that moves my tractor PTO back far enough to make it easier to hook up with the QH on.

True while you can do so, they change the physics of that entire system and put greater leverage against the PTO stub and bearing.
So saving a few dollars may cost lots of dollars!

Euro hooks are flexible and can be used from the cabin.
In Europa they use these by ropes or go down to operate them.
Ropes are often broken at lower links.
Therefore I tried to to make more safe-
We need to go out of tractor only for PTO-shaft and hydraulic hoses
