I've been studying the various QH systems for awhile. I didn't realize that Woods made one. It's American made and lists for $275...

My search is over... I like Woods Equipment..

It looks exactly like the speeco QH. I bought mine at Agri Supply for $170. A similar one is for sale at Northern for even less. Quality? NOW that is a question you will have to answer.

I'll be dipped in cow patties if you're not right!! It looks EXACTLY like the Speeco....
The engineer from Woods told me specifically it was made in the USA....

Looks like the ONLY American made product is the Land Pride..... A little more $$$, but it's made by Americans!

I agree. Place a speeco sticker over the woods sticker and save $100. The speeco will also come with one set of bushings, does the Woods?

I hate to say this, however with no sticker at it looks just like the model from Harbor Frieght. $80 list, $60 on sale.

Jeeeesh!!

You're right also, kwolfe!!

radman, yes the Woods comes with bushings and the top link adapter setup...

The Land Pride is made in Kipp, Kansas, according to LP.

I have no idea who makes it (probably Speeco though), but that is not the harbor freight quick hitch if it uses "adapter sleeves". If no shipping costs are involved $170 is a good price with or without a set of sleeves.

I have the Land Pride quick hitch and that adjustable top hook is wonderful.

The only modification I made to my Land Pride unit was changing the hair pins out for cotter rings to hold the clevis pins in place. I kept popping out hair pins, which was annoying at best...scary at worst if a clevis pin or two were to fall out. The cotter rings solved the problem. Key rings can be used in an emergency.

That Land Pride quick hitch is one of the best investments I made for my tractor, my back and my temper.

I just bought the SpeeCo QH along with a Carry-All from TSC last week. I bought a King Kutter rear blade from TSC last December. The rear blade and carry-all will not fit the SpeeCo QH.

If I had bought the cheaper HF QH everything would work since the inside clearance is 26.5". See link - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

I sent this e-mail to both SpeeCo and TSC last Monday but I haven't had a reply as of yet.

What do you all think? See attached pictures for a better idea of the problem.

Subject: Incompatibility problem with TSC purchased SpeeCo quick hitch (HF1410100) and KingKutter rear blade as well as Farm Force Carry-All

Hello SpeeCo and TSC,

The SpeeCo quick hitch that I purchased last week from a Tractor Supply Company store in Northern Michigan is incompatible with my two implements; a 6 foot KingKutter rear blade and a Farm Force carry-all. I am very frustrated with this problem since I purchased all three products from the same Tractor Supply Company store.

Prior to returning the quick hitch to Tractor Supply Company for a refund I would like your response as to whether the quick hitch is correctly manufactured or the problem is with the two implements I am trying to use with the quick hitch.

A small sticker on the quick hitch lists SpeeCo 1410100 and TSC #02-67563.

Your web site lists the quick hitch's dimensions as follows: 27-1/4" width.(3 1/2" x 3 1/2" beam). I measured and the actual width is 30" and the inside clearance is actually 27.5" so with the SpeeCo supplied bushings in place the inside clearance is too wide to accommodate either implement's pins.

Note the the photos below that clearly show the problem.

Please advise.

Northland,
I bought the HF quick hitch and had the same problem. I had to widen mine by cutting it in half and adding a 3" section then welded it back up.
Most all of my attachments are 29" spacing so even reversing the lift pins inward would not work.
P.S. I'd check your bmp's before uploading. When I opened the bmp file with Windows viewer and clicked next picture, I got some unwanted photos. Moderators will hopefully delete them.

Thanks George2615 - I think I will return the SpeeCo and buy the Pat's Easy Change system. Modifying the SpeeCo as you did with the HF QH is more work then it's worth for me.

The 7 bmp files I attached are of tractor implements only. If you see other photos when you hit next in the Windows viewer then those pictures are on your hard drive.

The Harbor Freight quick hitch was easy to spread out to 27 1/2" by use of a 5t jack. No evidence of bending at all -- just works fine now. However, the top link adapter is going to be absolutely necesary.
I can't find the top link adapter on HF's website. Does this thing have to be purchased through the catalog?

Pete,
I have read that you need to call the HF customer service. Thhey will be able to give you the part number and order it for you. I think it runs about $8. Hope this helps.

I spoke with the 3 pt implement buyer/product manager at TSC's head office in Nashville. He told me that TSC is trying to get all their vendors to subscribe to the ASAE standard. He suggested my problem is with the other implements and not the SpeeCo hitch. Unfortunately that doesn't help my situation so I returned the SpeeCo hitch yesterday.

The TSC buyer told me that they will have a TSC branded quick hitch in their stores within 90 days or so-if all goes well. I am planning on buying this hitch that will accomodate my existing implements as well as the new ones I buy.

I'm a new member & it looks like I will have a lot of questions.
Why do you need the top link adapter on the quick hitch?

   / Quick Hitch #17
Welcome rone. The top link adaptor is required when the implement manufacturer does not adhere to the ASAE standard so their top link connection is not in-line with the quick hitch top link hook-up.

You will have to experience it at some point. It's sad that manufacturers can't all adhere to what seems to be an easily followe standard.

Pats Easy Change is zero hassle and doesn't add near the weight and I haven't had a problem with it fitting anything, one order, no return, no cut and weld, no stretching, just a happy customer.

Thanks for the information.
Went to HF yesterday. They have their quick hitch on sale. They only had one left & it was out of the box. They gave it to me for $60.00. Was at TSC today & looked at theirs. Could not tell any difference. The HF model has 26 1/2 inch spacing. Looks like this difference spacing will be another thing to deal with.
Thanks again for the information.

Hey guys, for whats its worth,,, I bought the HF quick hitch, after refusing to pay $400.00 for the landpride one. I gotta tell ya, I think their the same darn hitch with different stickers on em, or at least the same quality.
Thanks to George, I modified mine,, and have been beating the **** out of it with my 6ft. KK BrushHog , and no problems to report. Just my .02 cents. I hate to spend an additional $320 or so for the same product. Happy Tractoring!!:D
