FWIW Pat's is the hot ticket. That other thing looks like a cheap imitation. I believe in spending good money for good tools... I'd stick with Pat's.

The other "thing" is actually nicely machined and very well made. I bought one but haven't had time to install it yet. It is a simpler design than Pat's but is at least as well manufacturered. Fewer parts to adjust/lose etc too.

I was surfing e-bay the other day and ran acros te quick hitches. One looked exactly like Pat's. The other the less expensive design. Price for the Pat's lookalike was $129 WITH the alignment bar included. I got one and was I surpried when I opened the package and found the insruction manual for "Pat's easy change system.
If this is a copy, this guy has more brass than brains. Don't know the details, but a saving of $70.00 is significant.

I will be taking delivery of 2002 NH TC40 DA in a month or so. It has a telescoping lift arm on one side to make hookup easier. Will PEC be adaptable to that type arm?? I don't have any implements yet to know about length of PTO shaft!!

As a followup to my own post...

how many ppl ran into a problem needing a longer PTO shaft when using a Pats types quick hitch??

thanks

I don't have a Pat's but a Harbor Frieght Quick Hitch. The 4" extension made the pto shaft on my rotary cutter too short. Of course I had shortened it when I first got it, as it stacked when backin' up an embankment. Bought a 3" extension at TSC and although it's a bit wobbly out at the end seems to work ok.

I've wondered if installing a HF Quick Hitch or Pat's type adapters might be a good time to also add a slip clutch, for both the length it adds and for the protection it provides.

Good idea. Has anyone done this? Photos? Who sells add on slip clutches?
