I love to listen to certain radio stations. I have a Kubota B7510, and would like to put an am/fm radio or ?? on it, so I can listen to whatever while I am mowing.
Anyone doing that, and how? Models and mfg's would be nice. Pics would be great!

When I brush hog I wear an AM/FM headset. Protects the hearing and helps combat the boredom of driving in circles for hours at a time.

I also use them on the riding mower.

Mine were ~$60, 2 years ago, ordered them from Harbor Freight, no complaints.

I have thought about headsets, but.....I might want to put on a cd (on really smooth ground) or listen on speakers. I am thinking more along the lines of a mounted radio. So......who else wants to commetn?

Not being smart, but have you checked out a TSC store or your tractor dealer? TSC and others sell mounted AM/FM radios with an integrated speaker setup. I believe some also have tape players. Last price I saw was close to $150 for the AM/FM setups.

I bought a Jensen Am/FM cassette Marine unit with speakers, about a years ago. I don't know how it works, because I haven't taken the time to install it yet.

I bought an Alpine am/fm cd player and a clarion wireless headset. The headset works off a radio transmitter that plugs into the outputs on the back of the head unit. This setup is really designed for backseat dvd players, but has worked great on the tractor.I can move about 25' away and still listen to the tunes. It really makes those big bush hog jobs alittle more pleasant. With the better decks you really don't have to worry about the cd skipping either.I just built a box to house the head unit and radio transmitter and mounted it the underside of my canopy.

I have a cab on my 5030 and the dealer installed a Sony with a wetherband in place of the stock radio. The speakers are right next to my ears on each side. I like hillbilly music. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have one of the fender mount radios from TSC on my NH 1920.. and I use a big muff style set of headphones.. keeps the radio in. and the tractor noise ( mostly ) out.

Hi Denni,

There are 2 things you might want to consider before you mount a radio on your tractor. One is noise, tillers and MMM's are pretty noisy especially on top of the tractor at close to full throttle. The other is dust and dirt. I had a good friend that did radio repair. On occasion farmers would bring in their tractor radios, but Ben got to the point where he would refuse to work on them because of so much dirt inside. And these were radios designed to be used out in the dusty fields. If you try to mount a car type radio on a tractor you will find out pretty quickly that they are not meant to work in a dusty & severely vibrating environment.
Just my $.02, keep the change. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The engine and implement noise should be "music to your ears". Not only that, you can hear what is going on. My opinion. G
