You aren't gonna make me mad, lol. If you do fall on hard times and HAVE to eat fence posts, I would eat the non radioactive ones first.

All potassium is radioactive, including what's in bananas and our bodies. I put my geiger counter probe against a bottle of potassium chloride (salt substitute) and the radiation was double the normal background level.

I worked in radiation lab for 20 years. Little fact - Bananas have low dose radiation (think from phosphorus decay) as does Fiesta 60s dishes..

Yep. People hear the word, "radiation" and freak out.


In my field I've often had to address school or community groups about putting a cellular base station somewhere. People just go nuts when I use the word, "radiation" and assume I'm talking about radioactivity. It doesn't help that there are nutcases out there peddling bogus 'science' (Drs. Neil Cherry and Henry Lai, I'm looking at YOU!) talking about how dangerous radio waves supposedly are.

They are getting more exposure from their fluorescent lights! :laughing:

I have been voluntarily exposed to large amounts of electromagnetic radiation (amateur radio)for about 50 years now. Certainly more than the average person. Of course there are limits and guidelines to observe. Of course that is not the same thing as radioactivity. But we all live with a level of radioactivity also, and for some areas of the country, that level is much higher than others. And with our nice weatherproof/draftproof sealed up houses we can in many instances increase that risk considerably.
