On a BX 1860 is there any way to raise and lower the mid mount mower without raising and lowering whatever is mounted on the 3 point hitch? Other than pinning the lift arms to the stationary tabs. I need to hold my grass catcher attached to the hitch stationary, and lined up with the PTO while still being able to raise and lower the mower.

I have the b2920 but would think they are similar. At least on mine the 3 pt is what has to move the MMM up and down. You can lock the MMM in up position and then you can move the 3 pt. down. but can't lock the 3 pt. and move the MMM.

Never mind. Read the OP's post *fully* and he already recognizes it. No better answer though.

So the answer is No. You cannot keep the 3 pt. stationary while raising and lowering MMM.

What catcher are you using? The Kubota ones are designed with fixed attachment points.

Put a receiver hitch on the drawbar, then mount your grass catcher to a long 2-inch square bar as a receiver insert. Build the mount so it lines up with the PTO.

Here is one commercially made for the BX, but some standard automotive ones fit with a bit of hole filing.

It sounds like I have the same issue. I have a cyclone rake and I made an adapter to put it on my 3pt.
I just got used to pinning the 3pt arms to the fixed mounts. Its easy because the grass catcher isnt heavy.
Its the only thing I have found inconvenient on my bx1860, but the 2 machines weren't designed to work together so I am just glad there is a way to make it work.

Here is my solution, I simply hung the 3 point arms from chains attached to the fixed mounts. Allows the mower deck to be adjusted yet holds the grass catcher firmly. This is a universal 3-point PTO driven grass catcher I bought new on EBay for about 1/2 the cost of the similar Kubota one. I'm very happy with it so far.
