How did they up the power? More boost or more fuel? Maybe both

I'm glad their holding off on the urea injection. Northern Minnesota winters are hard enough on vehicles without worrying about something else to freeze up. :smiley_aafz: That being said, I'm another person who will probably never need 800 lb/ft of torque. I'll likely never run out of power with the 610 I already have.

Now, if they would focus more on MPG, I'd be much more interested.

The urea seems to be working fine up here, its in stores just like antifreeze and wiper fluid now. Its price is going up because urea is usually made from oil or natural gas if I remember right and those are on the way up.

Cant wait to see it. If they can get the interiors on par, the rusting issue taken care of, and a few other minor items I would be in line to buy. I like the Cummins and the looks of the Dodge. With a better tranny and the other items fixed it could be a winner.

The new RAM's have consistently won the interior awards lately. GM rated last in the recent heavy duty truck shoot-out. Not sure what you mean about the rusting issue. You need to check out a current RAM and check for all of the chip and rock splash protection on the body. Also look at the hem flange sealing on all closure panels that Ford & GM do not offer. Perceived quality is hard to change I agree. You need to check one out for sure. My 2003 4 X 4 Quad Cab 2500 V10 has been trouble free and has no rust even though I am in Michigan!

Dodge more or less had to up the ante. The whole thing is a matter of perception. Magazines write about this stuff, people buy into it hook line and sinker, so Dodge had to follow the other two and up their power also. 10 years from now, you might take a 2005 Dodge Ram interior, and the magazines would love it, but now they would say it is cheap and has to many hard surfaces. I read the mags, but I always form my own opinions on cars and trucks.

My 03 Ram 2500 rusted out in 2 years. I had rust at the bottom of both doors, the tail gate, and front fenders. I have a 04 F-250 without a drop of rust, a 06 F-350 the same, and a 08 Titan the same. Maybe I got a bad one but the rust made me take a hit when I traded my Dodge in. The interior was not on par at that time, may be now days but cheap switches, plastics, ect turned me off.

Like you said, past issues are hard to overlook. I have been bitten and now know what works.
