We've got a cab and I mounted ours this way, I do use bluetooth for my music but I am able to catch important phone calls that
have come in, our bluetooth adapter lets me use the phone hands free.

I use one in my skid steer, tractor and on my mower. I think it’s a good safety precaution to keep it handy in case of an emergency or the wife and kids needing to reach me in an emergency when I’m out on the ‘back 40’...
