I thought a while ago about getting some airbags, then removing a leaf or 2 on my 3/4 ton to improve the ride... but then figured the risk and just decided to live with the lumber wagon.

For sane personal use, I think a quality airbag system can be useful.
A buddy of mine uses Firestone bags on an Astro van, and really likes them. The van is used commercially, but is only driven by the owner.
As long as one realizes (1500 + Airbags) Does Not Equal 3500, then the bags can be worth pursuing.

I was reading you don't want the crank angle sensor to go on this new engine. To replace it you have to pull the transmission and flex plate.

Kinda funny. Rudolf Diesel was born in France invented the diesel in Germany. What do the Europeans know about diesels anyways.:thumbsup:

They used to, I took one about 3 or 4 years ago, it's a very interesting tour. I've never heard that they stopped so it would be worth a call.
I was just trying to explain the other poster's point. I think I posted earlier in this thread that on the surface I don't like to see these engines are being imported, but deep down I do like the quality foreign diesels.

It's not so much wrong as it is different. Their payloads are lower than the others. Doesn't make it wrong, just means those looking to tow heavy (for a half ton) trailers aren't going to be looking at Ram.

I don't know how you guys can dislike:
1) 25 mpg, 15 mpg towing, 9000lb rating
2) air suspension that self levels, raises 2 inches when off-road, lowers an inch on freeway
3) 8 speeds
I'm a ford guy but those are impressive stats. I think dodge has a real winner unless they screw it up somehow.

I agree with last two items. The 1st item is the controversial one for the reasons stated.
