Does anyone have experience using Ramrod mini-loaders? I have owned a diesel Dingo for about 3 years and love it , but it's capacity sometimes leaves me borrowing/renting. Ramrods new 1150t seems like a good addition with it's increased capacity and track drive. If anybody has experience with both I'd be interested in your opinions. I have both the auger and tiller for my Dingo and wonder if they are compatible with Ramrods.

Hey...mdscaper....
I am presently in the market for a Dingo 322 diesel for digging postholes. I presently own a Kubota L3000dt and have a danuser digger with down force. I have a hard time digging holes with fist sized rocks and larger ( football size ).
My digger works off the tractors pto and spins only one way, so if I get stuck...I have to pull out the old pipe wrench and back it out...which really sucks. I have 27 hp at the pto. Does the Dingo dig well? does it have trouble pulling up rocks? can it dig in hard clay?........I would really appreciate any help you can give me.....please help.........johnny.......

Off the top of my head, I believe the attachments are all compatable with the Ramrod. The only mini skidder that does not match up is the bobcat which uses a different plate that you would have to have a adapter for.

The 1150 really looks like a great unit. They have made many improvements over the previous line of models. I own a 1999
900T which has performed very well. Of course you are right the size limits the capacity. ( I leave the heavy lifting to my Gehl Excavator) But these units are hydraulic platforms that can run many different attachments.

Toro and Ditch Witch also market very nice machines. My guess is they are a bit more pricey. But not sure on that.

Where are you located? Does the md in your screen name refer to Maryland? If so, or where ever you are. I am a (small) Ramrod dealer and can order machine and parts direct from the factory. I have not been able to justify the $ for a new 1150, so I don't have one to Demo for you. I presume you have been to the Ramrod website.

If you need pricing etc., let me know. I would be interested in finding out what the competition is asking for there machines also. I also have a few unused attachments that I got as part of a package deal, available, 30" auger and the small backhoe the uses the machine for the swing. Very very resonable price if anyone is interested.

I know this post is a bit late but I own 3 new Ramrods. 2- 1150 track machines and 1 950 tire machine. I have had all kinds of trouble with them. E-mail me for more info. Gary, 21259@cox.net

Hey Gary,
I just sent you a email.

Any one else have experience with Ramrod?

I did get a email from another TBN member to help solve a problem. Overall, he was very happy with the performance of his machine. A 750T if I recall correctly.

What are you asking for the Ramrod. How many hours on it and what is the size of the engine. What about the other attachments for the Ramrod. Does the auger come with a drive unit?

Thanks

Hey Bob,
I was mainly referring to the "unused attachments" being for sale. I would only part with my 900T if I was able to see my way clear to move up to one of the track units.

In answer to your questions:
My Ramrod is a 1999, 900T. Lifting capacity 900 lbs.
20 hp. V twin Briggs Vanguard Commercial duty engine.
Don't know the exact hours as no hour meter. But all fluid filter changes done before required.

I really don't see very much to wear out or break if used with in it's capabilities. It has been very reliable. Only thing I have had to do is install a new seat in carb. And I just recently installed a new starter ($60). I also added a cutting edge to the front bucket and beefed it up. Last winter I went through the whole machine, cleaned, painted and renewed any thing needed.

My Ramrod has only seen occasional use, as I do most of my work with my Gehl 362 mini excavator. But the Ramrod is invaluable when needed.

42" beefed up front bucket
No drive unit for the 30" auger bit.
6 way hydraulic angle dozer blade ( like new)
Lifting platform/ fine grader
mini backhoe that I described in other post.
New tires, but not yet mounted. Still has original tires from the factory on it.

If you want to discuss the Ramrod, drop me a email:
morar@connext.net

I am located in Columbia Md.

Bob, I can get some pictures together for you if you would like to see it in action. Just let me know.
