Ran out of pressure, dirty water from well.

I said it was something like purging. I haven't got my owners manual yet, but I think it was called conditioning the well, and I said it was from water coming from the veins around the well, what you called the recovery water. They said it was a good thing to do on occasion. Maybe it was wrong. I figured somebody else must have read it too.

We have the exact same problem. I saw the spec sheet on my well which says it pumps at 11 gpm but only replenishes at 2 gpm and has about a 500 gallon capacity. This works fine for the house but I can't water the grass as it will start pumping sediment after about 45 minutes. We ended up putting a cyclone filter where the water comes into the house to keep any sediment out in case we ran it too low and resigned ourselves to not watering the yard. Not a big issue for me as once the grass was in......only the strong survive!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

You should set your pump up so it will pump at a rate lower than the recharge rate.

Different size pump?
drill holes in some of the rotors?
restricting orfice on outlet - globe vale will work for this
