Hope you enjoy the new tractor!!! Whole new world for you. I always considered you an "old school" guy in regards to tractors. :)

Yup I am. Old dog is having to learn new tricks. ;)

Tell you what; I got a new antenna analyser for Christmas. I am learning things I never even wanted to know about transmission lines and antennas and how to check and improve them. But talk about making your head hurt, trying to learn about vector analysis of Resistive and Reactive readings, phase angle, return loss, and on and on. Let alone trying to understand that Smith chart.. sheesh... It is fun though.. Rig Expert, AA-55-Zoom

I remember the first time that I found out that using a light bulb as a dumy load still got me miles of transmission capability.. :)

And a even a "real" dummy load will still radiate...

Apparently 750 miles according to this guy with 2 lightbulbs in a V configuration on FT8 digital in the room with him

The drive is hydraulic but the transmission (H,M,L) is still actual metal straight cut gears. So if it is hard to change ranges, just touch the HST pedal while applying a little pressure to the shifter. It will slip right in.

If you put enough pressure to start bending or flexing the shifter, you are going to break something.

Once you get it, it will become second nature.
New to this forum pardon any missteps! I am reading about the work-arounds in the various posts about the difficulty in shifting the range selector on a Minhandra HST (mine happens to be 3616).
So my question to this forum is if anyone has had this range selector lever bind or freeze up? I manually got mine stuck in neutral and a friend gently got it into medium range so I can at least use the tractor. Through a dealer I am told due to back log they will have my machine for a month and I should expect to pay between $3,000 and $4,000 or more, plus ~$1,000 pick-up and delivery charges! Damn the bad luck and $5k to resolve the issue ain’t happening. I will run it in M range and get caught up as much as possible then I will bite the bullet and tear it down myself. Any tips or tricks would be much appreciated…

It's been five years since my original post in 2018. The range shift on my M6040 has got a whole lot easier. So....I'd say time and use will make the OP's situation improve also.

I have 200 hours or so on my RK37HC and it's still a bear to shift. Granted it's in mid range 99% of the time so it probably doesn't get shifted enough to wear things in. About the only way I've found to change ranges is to slightly back up while moving the lever. Even that sometimes takes a few tries.
