Nasa & SpaceX - That is interesting, SpaceX seems to be accomplishing a lot, but I wonder how much of that is due to support from Nasa?

The government is capable of many great and wonderful things (notice I used the word capable), the defense of our country, public infrastructure such as dams & highways. Do they always get it right? Probably not, but not everyone has the same criteria as to whether the task is done right so there will always be gripes about the outcome of whatever the government does.

On 3/21, I placed an order with Lowes. Total was about $60 for some 15 items. Some were very small and inexpensive ... under a dollar each. Some of those were backordered and I expected them to be cancelled eventually. They ended up splitting that order into about 6 shipments. The last 3 have contained those small, cheap items, 2 of each stock number. One came yesterday (Saturday), one today, and the third is due tomorrow. All via FedEx Ground. They could have sent them via USPS for a couple of bucks, or they could have consolidated.

Last Thursday the 8th, I placed an order from JeffCo. My 'prime' trial timed out and I didn't bite, so I'm back to the regular shipping. The order is due next Wednesday, the 14th but it has not shipped yet ... going into 5 days later.

I have never paid to join Jeff's Prime buying scam, and never will!

I ordered a 2 ton come-a-long from a vendor in Illinois last Monday. It came Friday. I’m sending it back Monday, they didn’t mention that it’s cheap Chinese junk with poor forging.

My son got message today that USPS could not deliver a Amazon package today because access was blocked. However, nothing was blocked, just another sorry excuse for them not doing their job.

I have seen a marked downswing in their service lately. Sometimes they arrive very late - sometimes not at all.

Yesterday the mail was soaking wet - like it was dropped in a puddle.

I have appreciated my Prime membership for several years now. I get many things delivered for work and personal needs/wants. I especially am enjoying how many things I can now get next day!

I know Amazon is helping kill a lot of brick n mortar stores and have mixed feelings. Received a couple of orders today on a Sunday (ordered yesterday, Saturday).

Got my weekend project completed this weekend... installing a 210w solar panel on my RV this afternoon. Time is money. Suppose I could plan better.

I have very little to complain about as far as deliveries, most of the carriers around here do a good job.
I even had a Fedex delivery yesterday (Sunday) from Walmart.com with my new Evo saw.

USPS having issues too.

Escrow check sent priority mail was misdelivered to right address number and wrong street.

Actually happens often but surprised with Priority Mail on big cardboard USPS envelope

USPS by me seems to be taking an extra 4-5 days to send out, but local stuff seems to be on time.
UPS-still doing a good job.
FedEx seems to have found my house after missing it a few dozen times. Did my complaining work, or did they just find a better driver/contractor, who knows?

USPS, UPS 99% same person each time. Fedex was different each time, but have seen the same guy twice, so maybe they are settling down a bit?

I ordered from Home Depot last week, with free shipping to my house. Ordered in the morning, and FedEx delivered it the next day. My wife was talking to the driver a bit. He said he works all the hours he wants, usually around 60/week. He said they had 3 more drivers quit that week, and 7 in the past month. Apparently they work till they get in enough time and then quit and collect unemployment till it runs out. They claim they are making more money that way instead of working. I can't complain since it leaves the most dedicated workers to deliver my goods. :)

I can complain... because the rest of us 'contributors' are paying for them to sit around and do nothing.

Yeah that was intended to be a bit sarcastic. I'll stop short of adding details of several other examples that one driver shared, regarding businesses he delivers to and the trouble they have keeping people employed. Too easy to raise my blood pressure and derail this thread.

Finally shipped in the last hour.

No shipping rants from me since I last said I had no shipping rants. All things considered, I am impressed with buying on line at Amazon and getting free delivery. I do not pay for Amazon prime, I just wait the 5 days or so and get free shipping.

I buy a lot of small items and some are quite inexpensive. With Prime, there is no minimum $ amount to get free shipping. We also enjoy free Prime Video, music and books. With the sheer volume of things we buy, Prime membership is a real bargain.

To me Prime Video is the draw, the free shipping is a perk.

Being pretty much Homebound during this Pandemic, we have bought a lot of food thru Amazon. Direct from Amazon to our front door. Keeping safe thru ecommerce!
