I usually don’t have anything bad to say about USPS.. BUT.. I have a customer that sent a pump out on Friday & the tracking number and eta said Monday for delivery..
Monday came and went w no pump delivered..
Now here it is Tuesday and there’s still no pump..
I asked the customer to double check his receipt..
He said his tracking showed it JUST LEFT the facility.!!!
He dropped it off on FRIDAY..
THATS some slack service.!!
That's DeJoy of the USPS.
DeJoy wants to eliminate the post office, and he might succeed.

Talked to my Dad last weekend. He related several issues he's had with his sub recently putting mail in the wrong boxes. The problem is if you reprimand them they will likely quit and you will have no sub at all. It's a sad state of affairs in most all industries today.

USPS here is quite good. Small town and good longtime employees mostly. The postmaster told me yesterday her biggest hassle is new hires. Hiring is out of her hands. She doesn’t get to meet or interview candidates. They are hired upstream and show up at her door. Maybe.

Growing up we had several letter carriers living in the neighborhood... working and retired.

I doubt a letter carrier could buy one the 1950's homes today on what they earn but evidently not a problem in the 50's and 60's.

I needed to ship something yesterday and reused an Amazon Prime box I had saved. I took the previous shipping label off, taped it up well and took it to FedEx. They took one look at the box and where is said "Prime" on it and said they could not ship it. A second person behind the counter said they have rules against it. So I went to UPS and asked if they could ship it and they said it was not a problem and shipped it. A second person there looked it up and said that FedEx was allowed also. Crazy to not be able to reuse a box. Google searches indicate that it is allowed.

Wasn't there some sort of falling out between Fedex and Az a couple years ago? Looks like some managers took that a little too seriously.

Fedex just delivered a box with the top completely ripped off.
Looks like the Foam tube inside was put back in, so only lost the paperwork.
Notice the guy gingerly placed the box and ran off. But at least he left it by the door

My mailman and the UPS guy(s) we have are great.
Mailman will come up to the door if there is a package that won't fit in the mailbox.
Sometimes have a nice chat with either of them.
FedEx, had one good driver, the rest are random.

Our pup has all the delivery drivers trained now. They all come with a biscuit and that makes him happy (and contributes to his weight too).

Talked to my dad the other night. He's talking about retiring from his rural route because they can't get a substitute driver for when he wants to take vacation or doctor appointments. He's going to wait until February on his 60th anniversary if he actually retires. I think about the 1st 10 years he was a sub.

Everyone rags on the USPS, but I personally have never had a bad experience sending packages with them, and I've sent a lot of them. I have had problems with UPS and FEDEX though. DHL has always been good too.

I think I've posted a similar picture before on this thread, this was taken yesterday, in the rain, read the sign on the door. Best part, this is the proof of delivery pic the driver took and sends you for delivery confirmation. I even used to have a second notice stuck to the bottom of the door, they used to lean the package against it. For reference, the garage lean to is a 5 second walk from the door.
Only one company, Intelicom can't understand, Purolator, FedEx, USPS, Canada Post all have no problem. I suppose if they renamed their company Stupidcom it wouldn't make much sense although it would be more accurate.

I had a 72” tv delivered yesterday by Fed-up..
I knew it was coming so I went and got a “hand truck” out of the shop and wheeled it to the front of the house..
When the truck got there, I watched him wrestle it out of the truck and stand there..
He didn’t have a helper OR a hand truck.. he just stood there about 25-30 yards away from the house..
I guess if I didn’t come out of the house, he would have drug it thru the yard.??
I grabbed the hand truck and walked out to him..
Get this:: he says, WOW, YOUR PREPARED.!!
I laughed and said, yeah, I’d of made a good Marine..
He tilted the box onto the hand truck and off I went..
It was effortless..

I wish they would read the delivery instructions.

I have a job box chained down next to the mailbox, that says in big reflective letters,

6” letters - PARCEL BOX

4” Letter - UPS, FedEx, AND USPS

4” letters - LEAVE PARCELS HERE

They have to drive past it to get to the house.

We were watching TV when we heard a truck blowing its horn by our front door. I went to see and it was a Fed Ex truck with a young minority girl driving. I walked to the drivers door and she reached out the window to hand me a small package. She remarked "I didn't want to get out of the truck because I saw your Beware of Dog sign on the front gate."

I was disappointed when DHL stopped doing domestic shipping. They used to be our preferred method.

We've had issues with USPS getting mail to the correct household in the neighborhood. But it's new, and there are 3 separate lockbox locations where a portion of the neighborhood mail gets delivered to. There are about 20 mail boxes and 5 package boxes per pedestal. There are 80 boxes at the spot where I collect my mail. Each house is assigned a box with the addresses labeled inside the open door. I've received my next-door neighbors plus a couple of other neighbors whose house number is 1 digit from mine.

It's not a big deal if the item will fit through the outgoing mail slot, so the mail person can put it in the correct box the next day.

I've run into the issue where the item wouldn't fit through the mail slot. So now I'm left with 2 options. Deliver the package to the correct house. Or try to make it to the post office the next day when the counter is open and give it to the clerk.

I can't complain. Yesterday I placed an order with Cabela's for a cooler and a scope. By the end of the day I had received a tracking number for the scope, with projected delivery of tomorrow. I finally got tracking info on the cooler tonight... after it was sitting in my driveway.
