Ratchet Rake - ever seen/used one?

Thanks. Had planned on ordering these but had read where I needed to measure bucket before ordering. Haven't gotten to measuring my 60" Kubota bucket on a BX2660 yet. Figured they would already know that since it's what they do is sell bucket attachments. Looks like you use your old strap so measurement of bucket doesn't look like it's needed/critical measurement. May call now and see if I have to go measure my bucket before ordering.

If you look again at my first picture, you will see the custom crimp that Brad made on the steel cable to make the loop. I have to assume that if he doesn't have the right measurements, your cable could be too short and the crimp could hit the bucket edge.

I have just finished reading many of the posts about the Ratchet Rake...I have a lot of privet growing under many pecan trees on my farm and wonder if this Rake would work clearing out the growth under the trees. The problem I see is I will pretty much only be able to lower the bucket down against the base of the tree and pull back as opposed to clearing an open space where you have the ability to go forward over the brush and then pull back...I will only get the back pull...What do some of you who already own this rake think about this working in my case...Thanks

I agree with John, I think you will be fine with only back dragging with the rake. May take a couple of passes to get the same results of digging forward, but it should work.

Thanks John, that was the only thing that worried me was being able to pull the privet growth out from under the trees..Privet has taken over in the countryside of Georgia just as bad as Kudzu vines, it is really invasive and it's tough too. I will probably be ordering one ..

Well, count me in. I just ordered one for my BX24 w/the cables.

I have a large lawn area that needs to be repaired/replaced and plenty of scrub brush and vines that are going to be history.

I like the refinements that Ratchetrake has made over time and free shipping made the decision to buy one that much easier.

brin- That's how I use mine quite a bit, really I only use it in 'forward' action to help tear/loosen some of the growth on the very first 'virgin' path, after that, it is back drag.. lather, rinse, repeat... until 'wa-la' nothing but dirt remains! (see the mutlitude of pictures I posted on this thread)

Thanks Brian, OK .that does it ...I'm going to order mine now...you guys have convinced me and I have made a list of all the places I can use it on the farm and around the house. Now I can't wait to get it. The privet around the trees has bothered me for a long time and there is only so much the bush hog can get...Thanks

In regards to RatchetRake... Mine works great.
Actually recvd. it quicker than I expected. Performs as advertised.

Attaches to FEL in less than a minute.

This implement fufills a nice niche in between a grub, rake and box blade.

I use it for land clearing on brush, scrub oaks & palmettos.

I just purchased my first compact tractor..30hp Kioti. Being a novice and not knowing what implements I would need I quickly determined the need for
a rake style device...well the price point and ease of attaching to FEL
was worth it!

Plus when you call RachetRake you get a real person on the phone.

I bought one and have use it for maybe 6hrs so far and love it. Have used it for seeding after home remodel and reseeding areas that burned out in the Aug drought that were planted in the spring. Put down fresh dirt and then drag through it with the Ratchet Rake to make little furrows. In the burned out areas I would drag through it and the rake would pull the old straw and weeds that grew prior to reseeding. Works well on my back yard that is a very steep hill for moving the dirt into position...this was much easier that using blade or boxblade because the dirt doesn't want to roll down the incline while pushing it into position.
