Ratchet Rake

   / Ratchet Rake #91
As I posted in another RR thread, I just picked mine up today from TSC. I bought the 72" and it was on sale for $199. I can't wait to try it.

Just a thought as I have concerns with the straps being exposed to debris and how they would hold up. Wouldn't it have been better to have the ratchet and straps exposed only to the back of the bucket, and using the two cables, one on the top and the other on the bottom, keeping the ratchet and straps in the back of the bucket and out of the way of debris? I think the cables could stand the beating much better that the ratchet and straps.

That would seem to be a pretty easy modification. Just a couple of cables (I think there were two extra ones that came with the bucket) attached to the top links and shorten the ratchet strap. Certainly less obstruction of the bucket.

I haven't had any problem with the ratchet placement. It is in a convenient spot for me. Of course the ratchet does obstruct part of the bucket but you cannot use the bucket anyway due to the RR attached to the cutting edge. I suppose you could manually load the bucket but I tend to just pile stuff and then get it later once the RR has been removed.
