Kubota B7500
While thumbing through a Kubota B Series catalog, I noticed that the 2910 comes with a Ratchet-Type, 3-Point Lift Rod. For those of you that have one...How does it perform? Is it just marginally better than the standard threaded lift rod? Is it a poor mans tilt? Can it retro fit to a B7500?

Mike, I bought one for my B21 because I didn’t care for the one that came with it. Unfortunately the casting that surrounds the ratcheting gear broke in less than 6 months./w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif I can’t say whether I got a bad one or it was me using it on a different tractor. The original side link and the ratcheting one for the B2910 looked to be the same size. I can’t get to upset with Kubota because I was not using it on the tractor it was designed for. I have never heard of any B2910 owners on the forum having a problem.

I like mine a lot.
I'll get some measurements later today. That should allow you to compare sizes to see if it will fit your tractor.

The dimension of the 2910 ratchet side like is 14" between the mounting holes closed. Extended it's just over 18". The hole at top is 7/8" with a width of 15/16" to fit upper arm into.
Lower end has a 1/2" hole with 7/8" to fit 3PH arm into.
Assembly part # is 6C170-6520-0.
I haven't heard of anyone breaking one on a 2910. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I don't know how much they cost. But I would be prepared for some sticker shock when you check on price. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Just went to TRACTORSMART and put in your part number, it is $325 for the part. Ouch.......

I didn't have to check. I figured if it was painted a tractor color and it was for a Orange tractor it would be expensive. But $325.00? Did you check to see if it was silver plated. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

You could probably make one out of one of those screw type chain binds. Cut the ends off and weld on some that would work on the three point arms. It may only have a couple inches of adjustment but that is all you usually need.

Mike -

Several 2910 owners on TBN have retrofitted top & tilt to their tractors. This adds a hydraulic top cylinder which obsoletes and replaces the ratchet top link. You may be able to pick up a used link from somebody who has done this.

Ron,

Thanks for measuring the lift rod on your tractor. I have not gotten to mine to see if it will fit. $325 for a new one puts it out of the question. I am better off saving for tilt. But as Timd said there may be someone with a 2910 with tilt that may be willing to part with theirs at a reasonable cost.
